I do find it interesting that the 24" iMac product page makes no mention whatsoever about gaming - not even Arcade.

Apple have never really been gaming-focussed, they’ve always left it as a secondary use case of the computer, with the possible exception of the Pippin. And that’s ok, you only have to look at Nintendo to see that specs aren’t everything in gaming computers.

But I do think they are missing an opportunity. If they were to put games on a par with Apple Music or Apple TV+, they would realise they are lagging some way behind other big games publishers, and that while the games industry is still growing they are not keeping up with the investments others are making in the field, such as Microsoft buying Bethesda.

Its even more strange because these new 24” iMacs are consumer-oriented machines. Gaming has to be a part of that, and to just let it evolve in a free-market fashion doesn’t really do justice to the medium.

The M1 can game very well. Not bleeding edge games. It's no slouch though. That's on the lo ende MBP that's released. It should be even better on the iMac.

This bloke tested a ton of games. 25 then 32 to see the performance of them and lets just say the results are amazing.

The graphics down/side-grade of the AppleTV sends the same message. Apple could easily have used the no longer utilized A12z as a natural upgrade to the A10x of the previous generation. Instead, they seem to actually have regressed a bit.
I can't figure out Apple's reasoning at all on this one. I'll still get the new Apple TV because it should drive my TV better, but why get 32G or 64G of storage for just a streaming player. A 4 year old processor in a product that hasn't even shipped yet, and it has less graphics capabilities than the last version no less!
