bump this but does anyone have the leather magsafe case and able to try to see if it sticks to the vent mounts you have? I too have a magnet mount for my X with a 12 Pro on the way. not interested in the magsafe charger since I have apple carplay.
I had an iPhone 7 up until last week and I had a steel plate in between the phone and case that then attached to a cygnett magnet in my car. Now I have the 12 mini and all I’ve done is bought a MagSafe charged and stuck one of the little magnetic pads that came with the cygnett magnetic car mount to the back of the mag safe, so now my MagSafe charger sticks to the magnetic mount and my phone then sticks to the MagSafe and charges. Hope this helps. See photos at attached

Its bad idea since the magnetic mount will weaken magnets from Magsafe and also users have charging issues several days after
The hack involves removing magnets of magnetic mount and glue it directly to the Magsafe puck
My old magnetic car holder didn’t work with MagSafe and wouldn’t hold my new phone. So I figured if I was getting a new holder, I would get one that did both jobs - hold and charge.
I got the Zeera MagSafe holder/charger (added a higher level cigarette charger) and couldn’t be happier. It holds nice and tight and charges. I can unplug the cord if I don’t want the charge feature.
Others have mentioned in threads that the Zeera magnet didn’t hold tight enough for them. I’ve had no problems. I’ve used it all through the winter on terrible pot holed, bunny roads in NH and it’s held my 12 Pro securely every time.

Dont get me wrong, i have heard half users who said phone (iPhone 12 Pro Max) will fall off when car hits big bumps, pothole
Half have charging issues, however they got Magsafe charging animation but it didnt charge
Cant take the risk if its 50/50
Its still a DIY solution, its better to use specific Magsafe car charger which hold is stronger than official Magsafe charger
I’m curious about this too. I would buy the Belkin mount but most vent mounts don’t work in my wife’s vehicle. We stick the mount to the dashboard using 3M tape. We adhere the metal mounting plate inside the case rather than the phone and cover the plate with tape to prevent scratching the phone surface. Works good and holds the phone nicely. It would be nice not having to do that.
