Something tells me no matter what you suggest or name, Jav won't like it, thus making your argument null and void. However I am always happy to be proven wrong. Will have to wait and see.

Well, I'll be happy to prove you wrong. I've been fidling with KDE for Windows for some time now. When I asked I really meant it.

The link proved valuable in terms of new shell for the Win64 kernel. At any rate. If you check my post history, you'll see I always yield on my points when I am proven wrong.

So a full-fledged Windows OS on ARM, eh? Does this mean applications have to be written for both the X86 and ARM Processors separately? I don't quite get how this is going to work... Is this like if Apple continued making PowerPC Macs while also having Intel Macs or what?

I think people can make software work on both architectures with some work.

Okay. So... I don't quite get what the point is, unless:

-Microsoft is getting ready to make Windows be able to install on literally ANY device with ARM Processors, like the iPhone... and create different UIs and shells to make it reasonable on these kind of devices.

-X86 is at it's limit and ARM is the way to go.

Otherwise I really don't see the point.

And is it true nVidia is slowly leaving the graphics card business altogether or are they going to keep on competing against AMD?

This will:
Give the option for computer makers to keep the high performance x86 CPU's which ARM hasnt matched yet in terms of power.
Give the option to run ARM chips for low power long battery life applications.

It will hopefully create a way for programmers to write one program which runs on both architectures (.Net maybe?).

I think that is why Microsoft has been pushing .NET/Silverlight as it can run on multiple architectures.

And hence you didn't say you liked it nor did you say you didn't like it. You said you have fiddled with it. Fair enough.
