o do not all macs come with that port? gess im out of date on new computers >.< ill check next time.
As AidenShaw said, the current MacBook does not have Thunderbolt of any flavor. This foolish segmentation of the product line has been around a long time and does nothing but serve to confuse Apple's client base.

Can't tell you how many times over the years people have been shocked to find out their Mac didn't have one port or another that Apple was pushing at the time (FW400, FW800, and Thunderbolt I'm looking at you).

Every single shipping Mac ought to have Thunderbolt by now - crazy.

The Mac Pro 6,1 is T-Bolt 2.

The Mac Mini is T-Bolt 2.

The MacBook Air is T-Bolt 2.

The MacBook has USB-C ports, but T-Bolt 3 is not mentioned in its specs.
The current MacBook I'm not even sure you can do target disk mode on it - there were a bunch of hoops to jump through initially IIRC. Not sure if Apple ever got around to baking it into the OS.

That lack of consistency across the lineup is one of my pet peeves.

surely there is a technical reason why the Macbook doesn't have TB

to make you buy a macbook pro? if you want it i gess, that is the apple way.

ops i googled it, id gess to fit the concept of a 1 port box/laptop.
so for looks and concept (as well as an upsale if you need that port you can pay more ;))

if it was an upsell they would never have added it to the macbook air. i'm sure apple would like to have TB on the macbook.

unless they pull the TB port on the next revision of the macbook air, id go with that they over different demographics.

yep maybe it's not an up sell, just concept led designee to hit a demographic :apple: loves cash
