If iMac's are released/announced tommorow, how long will it take to get one delivered or to be able to collect one from the apple store? :apple:

Haha, if new imacs are released tomorrow, they have kept it nicely under wraps this time. So how would we know when you can get it? If you read everywhere else you see there's only speculation, so no need for a new thread for this question... unless you wanted people to think you had some inside info by the title of the thread?

Yeah right. Also the title implies that it's for sure. There are already plenty of threads for speculating on release date.

I'll play along.

Overnight.

Subject to availability. If they're announced, "Available from a certain date," then it should be overnight.

Real question is… would you order one immediately, or wait a couple of weeks, to see what issues develop, and give Apple time to sort them out. Just sayin'…

Who knows, might be the reason they kept Bob Mansfield around was to fall on his sword again over any iMac suff-ups. (You did it, you take the blame - kind of thing.) Or antenna-gate 2 - need a sacrificial head to roll.

Seriously, if you're a regular Macrumors reader - be the one that complains bitterly about the new iMac, or wait for a real-world verdict. Media & bloggers are more likely to re-report a press release, then tell you a month later how they really feel about a product, if they ever get around to it. Better to be first, than have anything useful to say.

Pls dont diss the guy,, so many of us are waiting for a new Imac for so long..

The agony of waiting, the pleasure of ordering and wonderful waiting period till it arrives.

CANT WAIT......

so you are expecting the imac to be released 1 day before a huge apple announcement ? Boy, that's beyond optimistic.

if digitimes are correct and we are talking about 3 models. Then I assume that would be 21.5" 27" and retina 27" lets hope that is it...not that we won't be able to get 27" high end specs. I want a monster machine, but I dont care about retina.

Not a chance in hell. Too expensive for the screen, too expensive to fit in a video card that can pump out retina pixels for 27 inches.

Well, that depends, if its aimed at the pro market nothing is impossible. a maxed out rMBP costs 3,749.00 USD. THat's a lot of money compared to the maxed out iMac. If Apple is considering the iMac to replace the MP could be they will aim an iMac at the pro market with Pro prices. - not that I would ever consider paying such amounts just to get retina, which isn't really giving you anything else than smoother text and icons. It's just so much your eye can comprehend and you won't fit more details on the screen anyway, just nicer icons. Retina is currently for me a marketing stunt and a nice-to-have feature.

Well, if Digitimes agrees, it's settled them. :D

Seriously, if the 27"ers are delayed it won't be a significant one. They'll ship by Thanksgiving.

Errr, I take it as we will still get the 27"....they just won't be the super duper models. Don't care much as I'll just grab the base 27" anyway and upgrade the HDD/RAM if needed. Not to concerned with a retina screen unless it's a slight price upgrade.

At this point its getting pretty bleak...

I could understand Apple not releasing iMacs near the MBPro and MBAir, in order to not burden mac manufacturing & transport channels (since Macs have become only a fraction of Apple profits), but at this point there has to be more.

We haven't heard any real rumor (for a true redesign of the cases), no talk about GPUs parts like for the MBPro, so either Apple has become really good at hiding designs (unlikely seeing iPhone 5 prototypes), or they're just not coming :(.

Honestly I'm still hopping for Apple to do something drastic about their GPU situation, with AMD and Nvidia barely offering compatible cards in the lifetime of a Mac Pro, that maybe Apple should develop their own GPU based on PowerVR series6.

"the high-end model, has been postponed, without any launch schedule"

Although I'd really like you to be right, it's more probable 21.5", 21.5" retina and 27" ... or maybe 21.5" retina, 24" retina and 27" (but this second hypothesis is much less conceivable)
