They could but it would require a far amount of work and also do not forget that to using android wear OS they do have some of their hands tied on what they can add. They could make an App to handle it but just take.

Google could add some stuff to android wear for the API but at the same time why trust Apple not to break their API with an OS update. Apple OS updates are known to break API and make life hard on developers to address this stuff.

Good points. It is unfortunate, because I would much prefer the look and style of the Moto 360 over the gawd awful looking Apple Watch.

Yeah because Android wear TOTALLY works for the iPhone right?
One difference is I expect Google to add something in the future to offer some limited function support on iOS. Limitation being what app allows an app to do.

I posted this thread because I am able to sync calendar between my Note PRO 12.2 LTE and a MacBook Pro. I wonder what could be shared between Apple Watch and my Note PRO 12.2 LTE phone/tablet.

Given the way the Apple watch works it can't in its current form ever be connected to any device other than an iPhone.

Lol...let's be real. I'd hope Apple focus strictly on Apple devices before they start venturing out and trying to make the Apple Watch compatible with other OS's. Hell, there's not an iTunes for Android yet...so we know darn well, they aren't getting the Apple Watch. I think Tim said Google is their biggest rival.
