Will probably depend on how 512 sales go. If they're terrible, I don't see them pushing a 1tb model.

I say this every year but I just can't fathom fillingnio 512 let alone 1tb lol. My 64gb x is only half full. But I do very much appreciate Apple finally letting go of thenoitiful 16gb entry level option. That took too long.

we have to remember everyone has different uses.
i have close to 200gb in music alone. I'm able to have my entire iTunes library and playlists on my phone and accessible at all times. some people like downloading movies or have lots of eBooks on their phone to entertain during long commutes
some people record alot of videos or photos or voice notes etc etc we all have different uses
also some people don't have a computer so having a top tier phone with alot of storage is great. not everyone is a fan of the cloud and the cloud is always dependant on service/internet

Can Apple offer a 1 TB? Yes. They have proven that already by offering 512 GB when everybody else doubted they would even venture onto this path. But by far, it would be very minimal sector of consumers wanting to spend an exorbitant amount for a 1 TB iPhone. You literally would have to be heavily involved into media/music to even consume *that* much memory. Sometimes I think others don’t realize how much one terabyte really is, that’s an extreme amount of storage.

honestly the bulk of my storage is from iMessage conversations. i don't like saving/storing photos on my phone (because i hate clutter) so i iMessage myself any and every video/photo i want to keep also i have plenty of friends with 1,000+ photos in our individual iMessage conversation history. probably 60gb just in iMessage storage. while that's in iCloud it indirectly affects my device storage with back-ups

Game on :apple:, i will never go up to 256GB on the iPhone if the 128GB model is not offered:rolleyes:. Albeit i dont mind 256GB on the iPad as i tend to load it up quite a bit

Do the XS and Max use eMMC memory? Anyways, I think they should offer 128gb, 512gb, 1 TB if they offer 1TB.

Rare use scenario such as creatives/photographers. Exactly what was meant, worded poorly. Outside the normal consumer.

Does the average consumer need all 33,000 photos o their cat/kids at all times at a finger tap? I never understood it.
Why not? I'd want to see the photos in full resolution with no delay, when needed.

I dont have that many photos and videos, but I'd much prefer to use iCloud as a backup function not a storage manager.

Right or wrong, a lot of people I have seen on here want to have the biggest and “best” iPhone available. They may not need the storage, but it gives them some sort of satisfaction to know they have more than enough storage. With how cheap apple iCloud storage is, I personally see no reason to need that much. I’m not paying for it, but I don’t look down on those who do. I honestly would like to see someone who has a 512 and has it even half full. It takes a LOT of content to fill 256gb, much less 512 or even 1TB.

I have an iPhone XS Max with 512gb and right now I only have 168.34 gb’s remaining on my device. I am looking forward to having an iPhone with one terabyte just like my ipads.

I honestly don't see why they wouldn't do it. There are people who want 1TB on a phone which is crazy if you ask me and they could charge out the wazoo for it.

Ok, you still haven’t filled your 512 GB, and for you to use that type of storage space must mean you have an _intense_ amount of media. If you told everyone you maxed out your 512 GB, then I would place you as a rarity, because the majority of consumers don’t need 512 GB of storage, 1 TB of storage is a ridiculous amount, more than most would ever use.

With cloud storage it’s hard to see how people fill these devices

256GB I still have near 200GB left

I think the minimum for 2020 iphones should be 128.

I do as well. Mainly because of the consumption of software updates and media (I.e-Music/4K video/Gaming). I mean, I can survive on 64 GB, but I see that becoming far more consumed over the course of time when I would rather have more storage than too little.

If the future iPhones entry storage capacity is 128 I wonder if the free iCloud capacity will be increased as well?

I also wonder how Apple will double their cloud storage capacity. Not so much “iCloud” sake but their actual data centre storage capacity. All da hard drives you know.

1TB seems like extreme overkill in my opinion.
I can easily fill the entire 1TB storage with movies (Friends is 200GB in 1080P, so does Games of Thrones) and my entire iTunes library. So yeah. Maybe overkill for a lot of people, but for those who can fill it, even 10TB might not be enough.
