Just for that reason I don't the Mini will grow any taller than it is. If anything it may get thinner but then the USB ports will need to be horizontal. I suppose the overall width may be shrunk a little. There is still the problem of thermals.

When i got my Mini, i was impressed that the box was small, but the actual computer was way bigger than i thought it would be.

It depends where the fan outlet(s) need to be, as that's potentially vertical space that can be reclaimed, for example if they used vertical outlet slots to either side of the I/O ports. The SD Card Reader on the back is also pretty useless due to how awkward it is to use like that; if you use it a lot then it's usually easier to just leave a USB cable connected and plug your device into that, rather than swapping out the card.

Whilst these aren't Apple Products they do allow to easily rackmount mac mini and add PCI-E slots / Storage easily.

These can so some way to regards replacing servers, especially with the reduced capabilities of OSX Server now.

These are fairly new products and would expect them to talk with Apple before developing and launching.

That is some interesting information. They would't develop products like this without closely alining with Apple engineering.

That's what I have been saying here (only without those nice links ;) ) all the time. If they make the Mini bigger it won't fit 1U racks anymore!
