The notch has never bothered me.making it smaller doesn't count.

If the notch is still here in 2030, are people still going to be pissing and moaning about it? Get over it.
I don’t think so. It looks like a samsumg. This image below is the end game. The question remains: How many years will we have to wait to get it?

Foldables will be the standard by 2030, and candy bar style phones we have now will be a relic!

We’re talking about 9 years here. In perspective, the iPhone 5 is 9 years old.I sincerely hope that phones will become obsolete in 2030. (at least not one that has to be held in someone's hand)
I think this is the exact reason why Apple still doesn't do dramatic changes to its design. They want it to be recognizable, just like the iMac's chin. 100% avoidable but they still kept it, otherwise it would've lost its "iMac" look. All phones, any brand, are ultimately going to end up visually very similar in being all screen, minuscule borders and no holes or notches IMO.

True, 9 years ago I don’t think anyone was calling the iPhone a mature product.it wasn't that long ago that if I said "Apple iPhone will become the bestselling smartphone on the planet", people would look at me like I was crazy.Who knows what else Apple(or anybody else) will come up with in 9 years.

Not to dampen the spirit but I would not know if I would be alive in 2030. I would be happy to be alive tomorrow and the day after, and the day after, for a few decades, yes. But COVID-19 has ensured that I look only to the immediate future - concentrate on staying alive today. Cannot say for tomorrow, certainly not 2030.
