The PC version W5700 was announced in November last year, so perhaps within 5 months of the release of a PC W6800 or W6900 you can expect the Apple version, but it could also be never. Apple may now have development focused on the Apple Silicon version of the Mac Pro, which might not have AMD GPUs. If you want one of the new GPUs the best option is to install the PC version for now.

You could get 5700XTs in September or so of 2019. macOS support was added in 10.15.1 in November 2019. w5700x MPX was available to purchase in April 2020

then, it needs 5 months to get R6000 series MPX in Apr or so of 2021?

I admit there's been very little news on third-party GPUs for the upcoming Apple Silicon Macs, but after spending all this time on eGPU support and the MPX module system for the Mac Pro it seems inconceivable to me that there won't still be third-party GPUs in their machines. On the low end, or in integrated systems? I certainly see them going away. But it seems like it would be throwing out the whole point of going back to the box with slots on the Mac Pro side of the equation.

The 7,1 is the last hurrah for the Intel based Macs.

Going forward Apple will put a roof on the walled garden.
