Surely they will eventually update the Mouse and Remote ..... right ?? They can't seriously be thinking of leaving them in crappy plastic as they are ??

And how soon will they finally add BluRay ?? Now that HD-DVD is dead and BR is turning up almost everywhere ..... surely 2008 will be the year that Apple makes the jump ??

You're not a perfectionist.. You're a lunatic...:D

Waiting for an iMac with = Kick Ass Graphics Card + TV Tuner + Media Reader + BluRay Drive + eSata + Alu Mouse/Remote + iSight Lens Cover !!

Waiting for an iMac with:

Kick Ass Graphics Card = you got it.
TV Tuner = yeah right, there's this thing called Apple TV you know...
Media Reader = pff please
BluRay Drive = YAWN!!!
eSata = does Time Capsule use eSata?
Alu Mouse/Remote = i'll give you this one
iSight Lens Cover = paranoid much?

Not happening. EVER. Get a Mac Pro.
Not happening.
Not happening.
After the Mac Pros.
After the Mac Pros.
Probably assured.
No need. The light is hardwired into the function of the camera. It can't be on without the light being on.... and it's called duct tape.

Waiting for an iMac with:

Kick Ass Graphics Card = you got it. = Kick Ass is a 9 Series not the 8
TV Tuner = yeah right, there's this thing called Apple TV you know... = :apple:TV is not built-in = iMac is not an All-In-One
Media Reader = pff please = got a good reason NOT to have one ?
BluRay Drive = YAWN!!! = Get a life dude, it's the future
eSata = does Time Capsule use eSata? = No, but it will eventually
Alu Mouse/Remote = i'll give you this one = I'd rather Apple did
iSight Lens Cover = paranoid much? = Only enough to be healthy

It's outdated before you open the box. Live with it.
USB is on every object that uses them?
HA! Blu-ray is DEAD. Blu-ray was DEAD when Apple announced rentals. Yes, the system for digital rentals and purchases is preliminary, but in three years, Blu-ray will be DEAD.

Then get a Mac Pro. You can upgrade it with all you want.

This is a iMac not all-in-the-world-you-can-imagine-in-one-box.

Besides seems you have no idea about 'space management' as few of your 'requests' would take space that is in high demand in this type of equipement.

Oh and you're not healthy lol.

Does the OP actually except Apple to ever put any of that crap on a consumer level iMac, that is geared towards the average computer user? That's just crap that most people don't need or want.

Al Mouse? No way, it would get too cold.

Media reader? Hook up the USB cable. Having more holes in the iMac for this would just confuse the average computer user.

TV Tuner? Why would Apple ever do this? The HTPC market is such a small one.

Blu-Ray? Maybe, but I wouldn't count on it until software gets to be so large that it requires it to be shipped on it as opposed to a few DVDs. Otherwise, Apple has no incentive to really put it in. I don't think enough people care about watching them on their iMac.

eStata? The average user just doesn't need it. A power-user can build a separate server/nas.

What's with the iSight cover? Really? Is the isight burning a hole in your cornea or something?

Blu Ray is dead. Online downloads are the future.

Yeah for movies I totally agree however for data backup Blu-ray is going to be a wonderful option, a mean come on 25gb to 50gb of data per disc. For anyone who does any kind of video or photo editing they are going to love that!

I would love to go Car shopping with this guy....
"What? The steering wheel isn't reinforced titanium!?! And are those tires STILL made of rubber!?!"

(has anyone ever seen an aluminum remote?)

Honestly !! If some dude said a couple of years ago that Apple should incorporate a Phone in to the iPod ..... y'all would have said it wasn't necessary and that nobody would buy it !! :D

I can understand people not wanting the extra features I want ..... but why would y'all criticise them being made available as BTO options ?? I you don't need it then you don't buy it !! If I do then I pay the extra cash and have it !!

The fact Apple makes a far superior computer ..... but still only has a marginal market share ..... shows they are not offering what the "average" consumer wants !! It's a real shame that Steve has the potential to kick Bill Gates and Michael Dell in the ass ..... but insists on not doing so !!

Kick Ass Graphics Card = iMac would lose the image of being a computer that is "crippled" and not able to handle ALL the tasks it could be used for like playing the latest games .....

TV Tuner = as above plus Apple are giving away revenue to 3rd Party manufacturers which it could be gaining itself .....

Media Reader = not essential by any means but it is really convenient to have ..... most other computers have this so why does Apple insist on not competing .....

BluRay Drive = dude's CD's are older than Jesus but are still around today !! BR is the next step and no doubt Apple will implement them eventually ..... so why not make a splash and offer them sooner rather than later .....

eSata = again, this is the next step forward ..... Apple could (go back to being!) ahead of the curve instead of behind .....

Alu Mouse/Remote = well it doesn't necessarily have to be Alu ..... but they have to make them in some way matching with the rest of the product ..... and the Mighty Mouse is seriously in need of improvement anyway ..... and WTF made them take out the magnet in the Remote .....

iSight Cover = I have one of these already www.theipatch.com so it's no big deal ..... but I take my hat off to all those who are happy to have a (potentially!) hackable camera watching them 247 .....

Basically I think for an All-In-One machine/philosophy, the iMac has a few gaping holes ..... it's a shame that a company as lacking in imagination as Dell can produce a computer that offers features an iMac (as yet!) can't :(

You can have it all in your dreams...
My point was if you are waiting for one then go do something else as it might take you a lifetime to get a iMac packed like this.
And this smiley '' in your sig just makes you look like a spoiled kid not having what he wants and making big noise about it.

Im imagining Steve Jobs coming out this Fall and introducing the NEW iMacs. Here's my list of what I think might happen if Santa Steve comes through.

- 2.6ghz - 3.2ghz processors with montevina
- Bluray CTO option. An extra $200.
- 320GB HDD standard
- 512mb graphics card standard
- 2GB ram standard, option up to 6GB
