Where is that picture from? Is that from the 24hr Colette Paris exhibition back in September, or something more recent?

If they do announce at WWDC, then they'd better be prepared to stock the stores with them the next day. I think It would be a mistake at this point with so many orders undelivered, to offer more products that customers will have to wait on, not to mention give the competition the upper hand by offering them immediately.

Given the delays in getting the watch to market, I'd expect any new variations not to be announced until October, and then immediately available in stores to boost holiday sales. There's no reason to drive more volume sales at this point when Apple can't keep up with the demand as it is.

I'm not sure where they got the photo from. It just seems odd to me that Apple would be showing these off anywhere right now if they're not due to arrive until the fall.

Kind of similar to what Mac128 said, I don't see them announcing new bands quite this soon. Not necessarily for the reason that there have been so many delays with the Watch, but more so it has only been just over a month since the release. They could still milk a lot of money from the bands already out at this point prior to releasing new ones (even if we're assuming the next set of bands to be released are only new color variations for the Sports Band).

I also don't think they'll wait until October to release them. They most definitely don't need a conference to announce new bands for release.

unfortunately those aren't more watch bands, they're just more colors of the sport band. how about actually different bands, and some new watch faces too.

Hope so- love accessorising with different colours to match whatever i'm wearing. It's quite addictive actually... I currently have the white / green sport band. Would snap the red and orange and yellow ones right up... But would also like some new style of straps.

Maybe that's what will come in the fall?

i sure hope they come up with some.... and soon! i'm ready for my bands. and the sport version has really grown on me! i don't have to worry about it getting wet (since they claim right up front their leather is NOT water resistant)....

in that picture i want the pink (next to the yellow), the red and one of the navy blues (why do they have so many in one family so close in color?

i almost went to apple yesterday to see if they had any of the salmon color in stock since i knew i was wearing my new salmon purse and shoes today.... but it got late and i never made it....

Well it's not Apple spreading these photos. There was a similar pic in the web from a fashion event in Milan where Jony attended, too. After all, it's good PR.

I'm curious as to how Apple will handle more watch bands when they're announced. Does that mean they're also going to have sell additional Apple Watch + band combinations on their website as well? In which case it'll make their apple watch online store quite crowded with a lot more SKUs.

Or will they keep the current combination of watches with these additional bands as separate purchases only.

Hard to imagine Apple will want to tackle adding more SKUs when they are still yet to roll out to many other countries.

I really hope they announce leather loops for the 38mm. I couldn't tell from the picture, but the loops in the bottom row appear smaller than the 42s. It might just be the way they are positioned though. Also, it looks like some of those leather loops are different colors from what is available now..a darker orange-ish/tan leather loop would be sweet.

I really hope they've learned from all of this and they soon scale back the watches to just the basics. Ship them with the sport bands, let people order any additional bands they want. Just a half dozen sku's or so. Make it really manageable from a logistics standpoint (and not force the customer to sacrifice at all - most want a sport band to swap out with).

Nobody knows for sure what's caused the shipment delays. And every collection does offer a sport band so someone could easily buy the SS watch with Sport band and get a different band later on.

Yeah I think they could've done this quite easily TBQH. Nothing wrong with people buying the upgrade separate or ordering upgrades online like they do with the macs.

Not a chance, it'll be a nightmare to stock so many options.
I mean stock only the sports bands. Almost everyone who owns a high end band also owns a sports band for when they workout. They stock more iPad covers and cases than watch bands currently. All the high end bands can be ordered separately TBQH and no one would hate on Apple for that. It's just like the Macs where you can upgrade or get something other than the standard base models sold in stores. I have a milanese loop model Apple Watch but even I ended up ordering a sports band and have considered getting another sports band.

I want some cheaper bands. Like for $50. I don't care if its Italian leather. Give me regular Chinese leather for $50. Seriously Apple? $150 for leather loop? Also, it would be nice if they would release Space Gray adapter. I wouldn't mind paying $50 for it.

You mean an adapter so you could use everyone else's bands? Heh. You're never going to see that coming from Apple. :)

Me, I don't think we'll see these bands until after they launch in additional countries.

Not necessarily. Apple can make adapters and sell their own bands with those. Ill buy them. For $50 a piece.

Why would they change to an industry standard connector when they've already invested millions in engineering the one they have now? :)

They don't have to. But, someone else will make them. It is what customers want! People want adapters so they can chose any band they want, and not only ones that apple offers. Not saying that they are not nice, but its way too expensive.

No difference in quality at that price point, fwiw I think I saw a post while back were someone pointed that the apple classic buckle it's glued and not stitched  now that's far from quality if true.
