Microsoft equate processors with sockets. Eldorian is quite correct. Everything outside of a Mac Pro does not need XP Pro if you don't need remote admin and domain access.

I've talked with a few Mac Pro users that are using XP Home on their machines.

No word on if the operating system allows access to the second socket. At least in my memory. *shrug*

It was here from users on MacRumors. I went around saying that you needed XP Pro on the Mac Pro. XP Home might run but it might not allow access to the second socket.
