I’m going to spring for AppleCare+ for my soon to deliver 11 Pro Max 256. I’ve used AppleCare and the newer + version for each of my devices, mainly for screen replacements. It makes more sense to have it when your upgrade schedule is every two years. That’s what I’ve been on since the I had 6 (Plus). And unless Apple releases something really compelling next year, I will keep my Max for at least two years.

With improvements to the strength of the glass, and what I already know is an almost bulletproof stainless frame, along with the improvements in water and dust resistance, iPhones are starting to be more like MacBook Pro’s or iMacs in that you can live with them for 2-4 years before needing to upgrade, which is fantastic.

The Notch is rumored to be going away :D

That my friend is not what I would consider a compelling reason to upgrade, if it indeed comes to pass. I’m one of those people that doesn’t really notice the notch when I’m actually using my iPhone.

I would have skipped this upgrade cycle, had Apple not improved the battery life by such a huge amount. My X is still in great condition, but with traveling as much as I do, I’m feeling range anxiety and having to get boosts throughout the day to ensure I have sufficient power. The Max will give me more usable life in and of itself, but their efficiency improvements bump it up even more, which should eliminate the 20,000mAH battery I’ve been lugging around in my briefcase.

It’s one of those things that I don’t think a lot of people are giving Apple credit for. Everyone seems to scream about battery life and when Apple gives people what they want, it’s crickets from the peanut gallery. Hopefully Apple continues with improvements so that they can add a ProMotion display and maybe 5G or some other iteration in the next year or two, but I can almost guarantee that I’ll keep the 11 Pro Max for at least two years.

Either you are covered or your not.
The ones that aren’t covered are self insured.

People who complain Apple care is too expensive forget its for two years coverage

Some buy external warranty’s that can only be used for one incident and/Or
You get an none apple refurb as a replacement. Warts and all

credit card companies Extend the warranty. Usually up to one year
If Apple says your damage is not covered by warranty not because it is time expired but you need a physical replacement then your card company may not foot the bill. The warranty is denied.

when Apple went to glass backs if it breaks that’s requires a new housing.
Not covered under warranty, you have to purchase a replacement..
Under Applycare there is a significant discount.
For screen damage also.

So do you feel lucky ?
Do you trust others, friends, family, strangers with your phone ?
How about your dog ?
Ever drop “anything”
Tight pants, new purse ?

my friends child is two for two.
2 lost 1 screen smashed 1 destroyed (fell off car)

My xS is the only one I haven’t used AppleCare on
However
If it wasn’t being traded in under IUP I would be sending it in for battery
Replacement before 2020 as it’s starting to fall off.

Comes with the apple upgrade program so, yes.
It is bundled with the iPhone in the upgrade program, and you do pay for it. So I wouldn't say "it comes with" the program, it is there by default and the full price for AC+ is amortized over 24 months.

You do not have to get AC with the upgrade program though, most do since it's there by default, but you can back it out of the transaction before completing the upgrade program details.

I am. I never have before, but this year I had a broken iPad screen and it was not cheap to replace.
[doublepost=1568698473][/doublepost]Oh, sorry, didn’t notice the +. I’m just doing regular Apple Care.

Never bought it before but will likely do so this year for the pro max

Anybody else doing the same?
I'm on the fence, I get coverage from my credit card for free as long as I pay my monthly cellular bill with the card. In some ways it's better than Apple Care because the deductible is only $29. Uber Card from Barclays for anyone wondering... I've used it twice.

Will not be getting it. I have free credit card insurance that pays up to 650 for damages. Worked like a charm when I needed to use it.
Me too but I think I'm gonna get it anyway as I need the insurance on my card for other phones on my plan.

I have always bought AppleCare before, but will skip it this time around due to its higher prices - I'll bet in large part to all the abuse of AppleCare due to iPhone users running "naked" with their phones and coming back to Apple for a return with every scratch or shatter they got for not being responsible with their phones in the first place!

I've always had it, never had to use it, because I've always slapped a great protective case on my iPhones. Screw it. lol

Always bought my iPhones with at&t next and paid their $9.99 a month fee for insurance damage/lost/theft. Now that's going up in October to $15. I paid off my XS Max last week and sold it. Owed $525 sold for $720. This year I finally joined the Apple UP. So for $58 a month I get Pro Max/apple care+ and next year wont pay off and resale phone. I'll just trade in and get next phone. To me its something else I don't have to worry about. Also at&t is doing away with descending deductible. To replace Pro Max on at&t its $299 while on apple is less.
