I voted yes as I have been on the iOS 12 public beta and besides the annoying pop up thing recently I have enjoyed it. Seems to have sped up the older devices I put the beta version on.

Might as well. My iPhone XS will be in the mail. It also improves performance on older devices, so there's not much downside.

iOS12 is supposed to fix stability issues and improve user-experience per Apple. If you were to believe that, this would be the version to be on once its released and should be better than iOS11.

Yes I will, via iTunes. And I will set my phone as new.
So I want to do this with my devices as well, but I have Health data that I want on my phone after restoring. For other apps, it really isn’t a problem since pretty much everything is backed up to the cloud these days... but how do you plan on restoring Health data when setting up your device as new?

I said they have to EARN my trust again. The way I see it, it's all just words right now. They have been having buggy releases for the last three years at least. That points to an institutional problem where software quality was devalued over an extended period of time. I really find it hard to believe that they can turn everything around in just one year. In fact, as a software developer myself, I know exactly how years of neglecting quality can snowball into a situation that is very difficult, time consuming, and costly to correct. Ever hear of technical debt? I'll believe they've turned things around when after a month or two I don't hear of any critical bugs.

So forgoing a combative advantage to clean house is a pretty healthy cost. They are paying off the technical debt this year to some degree. I do agree they probably have debt all over even in the DC / Cloud. iCloud is looking long in the tooth.

I always update when newer software is available.. I don’t do beta’s but, from what I’ve heard iOS12 beta has been pretty solid.. I’ll wait for the official release though

I updated my iPhone 5s to iOS 8 as soon as the GM was available, but with subsequent releases have decided that it's better to stick with what works in the absence of downgrade rights.

Hence I have completely skipped iOS 11, and will get 12 when I upgrade to an iPhone Xs Plus.

Compared to iOS 11, yes. But I'm more interested in the results compared to iOS 10 and below.

There's no reason not to, performance is a lot better and less buggy.
Exactly. Besides, even if we turned out to really hate what they did with it, there's no getting round the fact that we'll have to have it eventually. Never had a problem so far though. Aside from back when the single lock screen became double lock screen a few OS's ago, most things turn out to be an improvement each time it gets an upgrade. So I'm fairly happy.

Yes. I normally wait for the .3 release to come out for bugs to be ironed out, but iOS11 is such a slow turd that I can't wait for iOS12. It seems like mostly a performance/hardening release anyway so feels like a good candidate to adopt early.

I update to ios 12 on my iphone 6 and I can’t see much difference between ios 11 and ios 12. Yes, the performance is a bit better and less buggy and a little smoother but it’s almost the same thing. Sometimes I can see some laginess and stutters on my iphone 6 using ios 12 and it sucks, thing which didn’t happened with ios 10. Ram management is still a little sadly. Maybe cause ios 12 still beta, so I hope ios 12 GM solve the ram management problem and the home buttom delay while closing an app.

Apple has my trust. Nothing crashed or burned on their watch; they replaced a battery for free; we all like our iPhones even after having them for ages.
