Sorry it's me again.
Installed windows 10 using Boot Camp on my 2020 27 inch retina imac.
Problem is under windows, it's showing up that the hard drive (C: partition) is full.
Can anyone make any sense of the screenshots I'v attached before I format the drive?
Thanks in advance.

If you disable hibernation in Windows you'll get rid of that 71GB hibernation file.

One thing worth tacking on since you'll bump into it next: with hibernation off you cleared hiberfil.sys, but Windows 10 also runs "Fast Startup" by default, which leaves the NTFS journal in a hybrid-hibernated state on shutdown. On a Bootcamp iMac that stops macOS from mounting the Windows partition properly — you'll see it show up read-only or refuse to mount if you try to grab a file from it in Finder.

Turn Fast Startup off in Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > uncheck "Turn on fast startup". Windows will then do a clean cold shutdown and the Bootcamp volume is readable from macOS again.

On sizing: hiberfil.sys defaults to about 40% of physical RAM on modern Windows, and a 71GB file usually means either a big RAM config (128GB was an option on that 2020 27") or the "full" hibernation setting. If you ever want it back on a laptop, powercfg /h /size 50 shrinks it to half rather than disabling entirely — no benefit on a desktop iMac, but handy to know.

That IS handy to know.
Am still able to transfer files from "C:Bootcamp" with finder.
Thanks for that useful post.

Here is something I have done to get rid of useless files to freeup you C drive in Windows 10

Under Run usually under option R

1. type Prefetch....then delete out all the files and also click on box that do this for all current files.
2. type temp...repeat delete and click on the box
3. type %temp%...repeat delete and click on the box
4. type cleanmgr....select c drive and then ok. Highlight all boxes to delete and ok
5. type cleanmgr...select c drive and click clean up system files.
then check how much room you have on your C drive. Don't worry..this is getting rid of temp files only.

That gave me an extra 3GB of storage thanks.
Now I have a bit more breathing space.🙂
