I've bookmarked this thread and put it on my calendar so that we can come back and look at these statements in a year.

I think a lot of the blustering about W8, Surface and Microsoft on tablets in general is going to look pretty silly in hindsight, but we'll see.

Not really. The gestures and interface are very completely new and have a big learning curve, regardless if its Windows 8 or Windows RT.

I dig it, but I'm not sure consumers will.

Eh, I'd consider them no more or less difficult than what we've already got on the iPad. A quick video tutorial when you boot up the device for the first time, showing all the various swiping and pinching gestures should be enough for most people.

They're already doing that for Win8. It'd make sense if they did it for RT as well.

I'm very interested in the Surface Pro and Iconia W700 so far. The W700 has some decent specs at a good price point.
