Kernel panics are frequently hardware or driver related. That is to say, if you still want to track it down, I would check any old connected devices. Logs for these should be accessible through the console application.

I went to sleep and in morning woke up to this.

That's a nice log in that it lists presumably everything. I don't see any obvious third party kexts, which were the cause of past problems. A lot of that stuff is just normal stuff. pthreads provide a low level multi-threading interface. Libm provides some system math library functions. There are a bunch of IO drivers.

The error value here is a long hex, which tells you what bits are set. Typically those bits are mapped to errors, indicating one or more errors here. I was unable to find a reference for exact error codes for Mac OS. I thought there was one (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

The kernel extensions in the backtrace are just core items that the OS requires. There isn't anything that really jumps out at me. Someone else might have more ideas though. Good luck.

I've had Apples & Macs since the earliest days, broadcast video, TV graphics, script development and the like. I have never bought for personal use "the latest thing" that way I have avoided, mostly, trouble. I've been sat in front of many "latest things" in edit suites and struggled - SCSI made video editing truly possible but was a world of hurt, various OS updates caused havoc and destruction of work etc etc.

I recently treated myself to a new MBP, I went with a loaded Intel 16" ... I'm letting you folks report the bugs in the "latest thing" and I can just get on and do stuff.

Early adopters = doing Apple's QC and debugging, thanks folks!

The last time I reinstalled the OS and it was fine for awhile but now it has started happening again. Such thing never happens to my MSI.

Well ok, that's nice for you but you are on what is quite predominately an enthusiasts forum. A lot of people not just those with a focus on Apple like to be early adopters of many different things. I got the M1 Mac Mini right from the start. I wanted to see for myself, not rely on others to tell me how AS performed. And to be fair it was the right decision for them and me.

Well, it will keep you warm if nothing else.

I actually find it funny that someone who waits for everyone else to early adopt and do the QC and debugging then buys a fully loaded 16" intel MBP. Clearly ignored all the feedback from the early adopters.

To be fair, they waited for the 16 inch to be QC'd and debugged for two years before buying.

Nothing really changed though, still a neutered toaster oven with the Intel inside which few recommend. Of course, if you are not actually pushing it, should be fine. Kinda pointless though if you are going 'fully loaded'.

True; yet given how hot those things run, in particular when external displays are attached, it seem the early adopters still got a more mature machine

:):D No overheating problems here, nor any issues with it despite driving it hard with FCP daily & with 2 monitors on occasion. I'm aware what Macrumors is having lurked here since the beginning and a member since 2008 8)

As an aside I don't post much on here anymore, there's a lot of strangely vitriolic posting these days that saddens me.

My son will likely get one from his workplace to replace his 2015 with the bulging battery. He needs Intel Inside to do his job.

I have an M1 Air that's been issue and trouble free.. Not sure what QC and debugging I am doing as everything works fine on my end...

I am however selling it to a friend and moving back to Windows...

Just came across yet another issue on my MBA M1. At first, it appears as blocky video decoding issue but upon further investigation there's file corruption going on that someone else reported. Now that there are at least three major issues with the other two being broken trackpad palm rejection and broken USB-C to HDMI causing blurry text and flickering display while working fine on PCs I could pursue the Lemon Law and get a full refund instead of taking a huge loss selling.

Plenty of others here have not had experiences such as these. You'll ignore those though. Bye then.
this is one of the most hilariously ignorant comments I've read on these forumsin a while

Guy creates a thread to discuss a problem he encountered.

Otheres say they encounter the problem

you discount their problems as not real because you know people who don't have the problem

My Surface, hmmm. Had to have a replacement as the original became unusuable - video funnies. Microsoft got me to video the screen to confirm.

The replacement has, mostly, been OK, but a handful of times has suddenly simply gone entirely blank. But not quite like a power-down/power-off as it seems to retain something - more like forced into sleep then wakes.

Also, runs far too hot for my liking.
HAHA me too.

at the start of covid we could only get surfaces. so we ordered a few. Nightmare. I have issues with WIndows. But I have had a far worse experience running windows on Microsoft's own hardware than running windows on devices like Lenovo's.

One of the laptops had an unusual video funniness too. And sure neoguh Microsoft's support asked me to video record it before they'd accept RMA. actually they rejected RMA first claiming "not a hardware fault". I had to fight them through my third party vendor. To the point where even CDW (my vendor) had to tell microsoft "Accept the RMA or we'll stop selling your surfaces"

I don't get how Windows can run so much better on non-microsoft hardware. that should be a ****ing homerun by Microsoft to ensure that their hardware and software work flawlessly togther. But ti doesnt

You are writing fiction. I never said any of these problems were “not real”. Perhaps you should try harder to understand the point I was making instead of making crap up I didn't say.

A couple of years ago, I went through a nightmare with a number of high-end Lenovo laptops. Can't remember the details, now, but Lenovo support came back insisting we wipe the machines completely, install afresh, and see how it goes. No way of updating from the existing installation. And needed a huge download from Lenovo. Even then, it didn't always work but did sometimes. Leading to much head-scratching.

(I think it was in how the device worked in relation to a USB-C "dock" type of device - also from Lenovo.)

Lenovo USB-C docks are a bit buggy. I do find that unless you install the drivers ahead of time, they cause issues.

I've had a hard time finding usable good quality usb-c/thunderbolt docks for the corporate world. Everyone has a slightly different implementation of some aspect. Like the Dell's for the longest time didn't use displayport over USB-C, but tried to use displaylink over it instead. Lots of problems.

If it had been just the dock, you might have expected it not to require full reinstall of the laptop? But it was a while ago now and I try to forget rather than remember the whole issue! Just the name Lenovo keeps re-awakening memories.

no no you are right. When they first came out and early in the first round of hte drivers for the dock, I had similar behaviour.

Windows would go download from the net some generic windows USB-C driver and next thing I knew, bluescreens.

I haven't encountered that though in a couple years and the new V2 drivers seem to be very consistent. However, without the drivers, not all functions on the docks will work (like networking)

Not how what works? In both cases, Wi-Fi still connected and ethernet still showing an IP address yet no webpages loading from either connection. Restarts don’t help or change a thing. Only solution was to do a network settings reset.

sounds like something is causing your network stack to crash then. very interesting and may speak to driver issues.
