You beat me to it! I wonder how long before we get the naysayers in telling us how it is a fake. I'm hoping it is true but i'm not holding my breath. Although it's a lot of effort to go to for a fake.

It's amazing how Windows XP could look better by simply booting on an iMac :D

I found it slightly disturbing. There was just something so wrong about seeing the MS logo on that beautiful iMac.

haha, my thought exactly, and it seems to run pretty nicely. I wonder how hard it is to get it done though

Looks real to me. The fact they show Windows recognised the firewire connections means they can't be running WinXP on Bochs or that other PC emulator.

I just wish they showed how to boot into Mac OS. Is there a boot menu or does installing WinXP on the thing mean you can't boot Mac OS anymore.

I'd say they were more interested in getting XP working than getting them both working. Probably why they haven't submitted it to the contest yet as you have to be able to easily dual boot. I'd say in another few days they'll figure it out then bring out the instructions and we'll all be able to dual boot.

To win the contest he has to get it to dual boot with a menu to choose between the two os's.

Glad they are getting close to this tho! Would make my life easier :)

Yep it was real, anyone who's ever used one of the emulators would know the crap speed they do that.

What interested me was the windows logo on the boot up? That's weird, is that somthing to do with EFI bios.

Interested to know if all the drivers were recognised (GPU & Sound)..

Low Quality is either very heavy compression (probably as the file is on 7megs) or poor quality mp4 camera..

It would also be interesting to see if he can dual boot now, because if your stuck with windows then forget it :)

Well, I don't know if it's fake or not, but if it isn't, kudos to someone for finally cracking this puzzle. :)

And also, bring on the development of QEMU, Bochs, Wine, and all the other wonderful things we're going to see running on OS X / Intel. :D

I wasn't able to glean any proof of submission from that link you provided. Where should we be looking?

Depends what you were looking to see.

Solution has been submitted. Currently testing

It doesn't mention what solution has been submitted but I don't think the timing of this video is just a coincidence.

So I may be a little behind the times, but can someone explain to me what the advantage of doing this is? Not trying to troll, just curious.;)

You have to be kidding me. This has been asked MULTIPLE TIMES. But.. I'll humor you. I'll give you 2 quick examples. People love using a Mac but some dip into the darkside so they can play.. oh lets say.. Half-Life 2 or Counter-Strike.. Others like me create web sites for a living where you MUST test on multiple versions of IE. Okay.. nuff said :)

Advantages:

1. Run windows-only apps
2. Connect to windows-only networks, mainly at work areas
3. Play tons of games that are simply not avaliable for the mac
4. Test your web based application on both platforms
5. Develop your .NET application on Windows, run and test it on your mac using Mono.
6. Check info on my back account, which is in full Hebrew, and Mac STILL DOESN'T SUPPORT!!!
7. Write documents in Hebrew or any other right-to-left langauge(Arabic for example), which the Mac STILL DOESN'T SUPPORT!
8. tons of other things I can't think of at the moment.
