My Anker never causes my iPhone to get hot. Neither does the Samsung one I have. Now my Series 4 apple watch does get hot. Not sure why on that one yet.

Yeah, my S3 watch gets really warm especially if under 80% charge. But since it isn't excessively hot, I've lived with it. Battery life, a year later, seems to be fine on my S3. Yeah, they do get warm tho.

Never noticed my X getting really hot while wirelessly charging. Now with my Max seems to be fine when I need to charge it wirelessly.

mophie wireless charger and a Anker stand up charger with a UAG case with no issues thus far.

I definitely recommend Anker products. Some of the best third party accessories made at reasonable prices. And just as important is Ankers customer service standards resemble Apple’s.

So after doing some testing, it may be to not being on charger 100% in the middle, this last test it didn’t almost fry. Keeping a eye on this for fire reasons for sure.

AnkerPower Wave 7.5 watt charger here and I've not experienced any issues charging both iPhone 8+ for 14 months and the Xr the last 6 weeks or so. They don't even get warm, much less hot. iPhone 8+ after year sell has 96% charge capacity. I would bet your wireless charger has gone bad and could be damaging your battery. I think not using it is the right thing. Until you get another one though you won't know if it's the charger or the phone.

Haha, it's funny and naive to think assembling in USA will prevent faulty products from being made.

I’ve used a Samsung wireless charger for my x the whole time I had it, and use it currently for my xs max. Phone will get warm sometimes but not bad. Fiancé uses the same wireless charger for her x and has for a year. A friend of mine and his wife use the same chargers for their x and 8 plus, and they haven’t had any issues. Maybe it’s the charger? Or maybe something is up with the phone? I would try as suggested....remove the case and see if it still happens...if it does maybe try a different wireless charger.

This is the Samsung charger we all use. Amazon has it on sale right now for $26, originally $50.

I have that same charger (it came with the S7 iirc) and it works perfectly with the XS, no heat issues I’ve noticed either.

Only thing I hate about it is the bright blue light. I took a black sharpie and colored around the edge and that dimmed it some, but I need to do it again.

Funnily enough, I took some thin detailing tape (the stuff they use to put stripes on cars) and covered the blue light area as well. It is annoying in the dark.

After purchasing an Anker wireless charger for home, the only time my Xs is plugged in is when I'm in my car using CarPlay.

I never did use wireless charging for my X though.

Thirded. I have two of them that I've been using on both my older 8 Plus and now my XS Plus, never any issues and they work great.

In my opinion so-called wireless charging is even less convenient than wired charging. If I can’t hold the phone in my hand while it’s charging, it’s not working for me.

PS: Heat is the best way to damage your battery capacity forever.

When I want to make a call I can pick it up from the pad and walk around not worrying about the cord.

So see there are two sides to everything.

The only reason to charge an XR during the day is because of constant nonstop usage. If I had the time to lay it on a charging pad, there would be no need to do so. Putting the phone in Low Power Mode is usually a way better option.

I only charge at night while sleeping and I never cripple my device by putting it in low power mode, but that is just me.

I had no idea you were such a "power user"!
