Wireless syncing doesn't seem to work.

Connect your iPhone to iTunes using the sync cable. Once it's connect, click to turn on the "synce this device using wifi" button or something like that. Once enabled, then you can sync wirelessly.
I am having a problem with both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4S. I have synced both with iTunes and have checked the box to be able to sync them over wifi. Once I remove the cable from the device, the devices disappear from iTunes and when I go under iTunes sync over wifi in settings, the sync now button is greyed out and I can't wifi sync. I know everything is connected to the same network. Both my girlfriends iPad 2 and iPhone 4S wifi sync flawlessly. I have no idea what is going on with mine. Any thoughts?
I had the same problem...it seems that u have installed a program that interferes with iTunes.
In my case it was mywinlocker. Once I uninstalled it...instantly iTunes discovered my iPad 2 and I have no problems since then...
So...start uninstalling some programs and you'll find the problem.

I had a wee problem with this earlier which I managed to solve. When I physically disconnect my iPhone I am used to 'ejecting' it in the devices pane first. It's just habit. Always been told to eject the device before you unplug it. If you do this, the sync won't work. The device has to still be in the devices pane. So I had to connect my phone with the cable, so that the WiFi sync option would be available, tick it, then just unplug the phone. WiFi sync then works a treat.
Programs on my Mac Mini?
There is nothing on it. It is a bare bones install. I ONLY use it for media streaming.
I was having this problem earlier.
I found the solution was:
I'm on Windows.
I went into Services and looked for the service called APPLE MOBILE DEVICE. I then right clicked on it and choose RESTART from the menu. Since doing this I've been able to wirelessly sync again on both the iPad and iPhone. Perhaps the APPLE MOBILE DEVICE had crashed or stopped working for some reason?

It was definitely the cause for me (APPLE MOBILE DEVICE), because when I went back into Services again and manually stopped it, and then tried to wirelessly sync again, the problem was there again.
I then re-enabled it and wireless sync works again

I was able to finally solve the problem I mentioned earlier in this thread. I was on the phone with Apple for about 2 1/2 hours. We tried all the basic stuff and nothing was working. They seemed really stumped as to why I was having this problem. What finally worked was completely uninstalling iTunes, Quicktime, Bonjour and other associated programs and then reinstalling iTunes. The guy didn't expect this to work but it did. So, if anyone is having the same problem I mentioned in my earlier post try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
I tried powering down my iPad and then plugging into the charger but still no sync. Anyone have any ideas what nether my iPhone or iPad will auto sync?
As a last chance effort, I removed the Ethernet cable from my Mac Mini and added it to my wi-fi network. Still nothing. Which I'm glad because I do not want my Mac Mini on my wi-fi network.
Auto sync happens overnight whilst plugged in and screen is off.
You want it sooner then manually initiate it
Same issue, both my iPhone4s (plural, not 4S). Neither sync via wi-fi, greyed out unless connected via sync cable.
I'm having issues as well running Vista PC...

I am having a problem with this too. I have an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2. The iPhone 4 is working, kind of. Wifi sync seems to work buy apps don't seem to sync between the iPhone and iTunes.
The real problem is with the iPad 2. I have wifi sync enabled on the iPad and in iTunes but as soon as I unplug it from the USB cable on the Mac the iPad disappears. On the iPad I can click "sync" but it just says "looking for Mac", times out and just shows the last time that it was synced with the cable. Very frustrating.

This is probably a really dumb questions, but for this to work, does the computer have to be on? I have a Macbook and when the lid is down, it's in sleep mode. So I wouldn't be able to sync to my iTunes wireless?
Auto App Updates?
Is there anyway to have your apps updated on a nightly basis automatically with IOS5 or wirless iTunes Sync. I guess if I download the updates on iTunes, it will update those when it does wireless sync overnite, but that seems a little manual still. And yes I know I update them directly from my iPhone or iPad.

I'm able to sync wirelessly... but it keeps getting stuck on step 7 of 7 "waiting for changes to be applied". I've tried both wireless and plugging it in; same problem. I've reinstalled iTunes and everything. Thoughts?
