Thanks. Now I know I’m not the only one.![]()
Still happening on October 18 on my iPhone 7 and 8+. It seems like there are lots of updates coming out daily so it may be swamping the system.
Thanks. Now I know I’m not the only one.![]()
AGREED. This is what I've come to expect from Apple since Jobs death: everything they release seems to be a total disaster that should have never made it to market. Makes you wonder if they are thoroughly testing anything anymore or if part of their rollout scheme is now to roll things out not fully tested and have irate Apple users be their testing division so they hear from users how horrible their products have become. My iPhone6 is a total MESS since DOWNgrading to iOS11. Apple needs to fix ALL the issues with this OS. I've stopped listing everything on my phone that's screwing up, the list is THAT big.
So you’re angry that you have a 4 year old device that has some performance issues on a X.0 build. I mean you could be on Android where you never get an update. Over the last four years you have gotten at least 20 updates.
You join today and all three of your posts are bashing Apple. You are going to have a rough time here.

Perhaps I am the luckiest iPhone user in the world but iOS 11.0.3 is running great on my lowly iPhone 6 (16 GB). Smooth performance overall and great battery life to boot. Looking forward to 11.1 next week.I have a 6+ and wish I had not gone from iOS 10 to 11. While the features within iOS 11 are very nice imo... the performance hit I have taken is really, really, really bad. A couple of games (namely, Sim City: Build It) which was always super fluid and fast on iOS 10 is now virtually unplayable. I understand that certain things could be a little tougher, but games that ran just fine on this hardware on iOS 9 and 10 being completely unplayable on 11? This doesn't seem right.
Granted, I'm planning on updating to the X next month which will make this a moot point, but it is still very disappointing for now.
Sorry to say that just because your perceived performance is not up to your standards that everyone else is having the same experience. That is simply not the case. And believe me that I am not one of those non-observant users who doesn't care about performance. I am running iOS 11.0.3 on an iPhone 6 (16 GB)(yes you read that correctly), iPhone 7 and 9.7" iPad Pro. And I am running iOS 11.1 15B92 (today's release) on iPhone 7 Plus and 2017 iPad. Pleased with iOS 11 on these devices. Would I like the iPhone 6 to perform like a Tesla? Of course I would but dude that phone is getting a bit long in the tooth. Even so the iPhone 6 is performing quite well thank you very much. So no disruption here my friend. I am very pleased with the direction Apple is taking with iOS and look forward to additional optimization and features in the near future. You are correct. It is a clear and deliberate crippling of of not only your device. It is a problem for everyone except a select few it seems who are in denial about it or honestly are not observant enough to notice it but for those who actually are awake they stand out like night and day! iOS 11 is trash.

He is not alone. He joined because it's the first time an ios release has sucked so much and disrupted so many devices that it was mindblowing and forced many to join forums like this one to search for answers, share experience, and YES to vent!
I am here because this DOWNgrade screwed my perfectly functioning iPhone 7. It's not the iPhone, iPad, or any other iDevice...it is the crapware known as iOS 11.
I can't picture you using an iPhone twenty years ago. Maybe you need to edit that sentence for clarity. You get a rough time here even if you're an Apple user of over 20 years who's only ever used iPhone and dares to criticise them.
As a former Apple fanboy, the defence mechanism on here is cringe worthy. Apple do not care about QA the way they used to, it's undeniable.

And what on earth is a former Apple fanboy doing on these forums since apparently you have moved on to the greener pastures of Android. How are those KRACK updates coming along?
And yet here you are...Nope, it's perfectly clear. It's only unclear to trolls looking for the slightest twist on words to try and act smart in front of a forum. And who said I'd moved to Android? Or do I need to edit my sentence to include yet another assumption/statement by you?
I'm a former Apple fanboy because the Apple I knew and loved died when Steve did. What we have now is a parody act.
And yet here you are...
All manufacturers do planned obsolescence. Gotta make money every few years. Sealed batteries is one way. Android doesn't get updated long enough to make them slower.I will sell my iPhone and switch to Android if Apple dont stop this planned obsolescence bs.
With every major release the same story: Slower and laggier than the old one and worse battery-life.
If they are not able to make iOS 11 as fluid and good as 10.3.3 was then they should not release it to old devices. They should bring only security-updates which dont effect performance etc.
Otherwise they should sign iOS 10.3.3 until iOS 11.3 is released.
With iOS 11 they made a lot of customers angry. It cant be that hard to make a fluid and bugfree UI in year 2017 without delay and stutter. Or they should rebuild iOS from the ground up.
I have a 6+ too and iOS 11 is noticeably slower than iOS 10. I'm not even talking about gaming performance (I don't play games), but even the most basic interactions with the UI are slow. I don't expect outstanding performance on a 3 years old phone, but I can't understand why there's a lag here and there in the system that wasn't there before. I just tapped on the "show all tabs" button in Safari and it took 4 seconds to show all five (5!!) tabs I had opened. Every time I tap on the address field it takes 2-3 seconds until I can write something there. It takes a few seconds for the camera to activate. And there are more lags.
What the hell did they do to make the UI slower? It's like they have a piece of code which works just fine and every year they throw it away and rewrite it from scratch to work best only on the newer phones. And they call it an iOS upgrade.
iOS runs fine on my iPhone 7
Quite a few people were saying that it was time to move to more than GB by that time. That said, it was still fine at that time and even for some time after that. It's just showing its age after a number of years, which is a decently long time in the mobile world.
If this were common sense, Apple should have cut off the 5s and 6 at 10.3.3. Yet they actively try to push 11 onto these devices through pop ups and emails that talk about how amazing it is.
The average person has no idea how much RAM is in their phone. They get the messages from Apple to update with no warnings about how their phones will become crippled.
Not good.
It doesn't seem to suck for most with those phones. A few certainly seems having issues of one type or another, but that's basically not much different than some people having issues of one type or another with basically any major update. If that was true about older devices then why does it still suck on an iPhone 7 or 7+? It shouldn't because it still has more than current specs..
And if you do not upgrade, they also ruin the battery of your device by increasing the charge cycles per day causing you to replace the battery earlier than usual. They get some of your money either way. I charge my 7 Plus twice a day on iOS 11. On iOS 10 it used to last 1.5 days. This may seeem far fetched but I am starting to believe it looking at my 7 hour bvatteryIf that was true about older devices then why does it still suck on an iPhone 7 or 7+? It shouldn't because it still has more than current specs..
Apple does this on purpose so you have to upgrade your device every couple of years. They aren't stupid.
