Why do you think like this? Because of the screen size? I think that I could definitely make a brochure on 12.9 iPad Pro. Obviously external screen support could help, but it is still very doable. Like LumaFusion, many people who edit their videos, use external monitors with their computers, but still, many edits on iPad Pro in LumaFusion as well. So, I think this could be still very possible. Even tho I use external monitors at home, in the office I use my 15" Macbook Pro and I have no problem to do brochures and such.

Affinity had said that they are working on the iPad version of the publisher, I hope that it comes soon.

Yes, I like to have a big canvas at hand when laying out and to see text flow and elements at multiple sizes and magnification levels. Sure it’s all doable with a tiny screen but that’s just not desirable for me.

iPad Pro is my fav device, but I am definitely jealous of the DeX on Samsung S7+ series. Samsung S7+ is a great device too, but it's biggest flow, which is not really Samsung's mistake, is the lack of Android Tablet Software support compared the ones on iPad Pro. Even on iPad Pro there isn't much pro apps, I mean still the publishing/mise-en-page is not well covered lacking softwares like inDesign or Affinity Publisher and also on 3D modelling there is some long way to go.

I should admit that I envy you having both S7+ and iPad Pro, I think that it is a winning combo. :) Enjoy!
Yeah, they are extremely complementary. Having both is great. The S7+ is a much better video watching device (oled, better aspect ratio, better sound, lighter, can connect and disconnet to a monitor and will continue play the video on the monitor when connected at the proter aspect ratio, without buying additional apps and while still having the tablet available) while iPad is better for portrait viewing PDFs or for some pro apps like lumafusion, drawing apps (but I am not an artist) and music making apps (Samsung gives you 6 months free of Clip Studio and Canvas free, but there are not many apps otherwise and for music there is almost nothing).
Samsung is much more powerful for multitasking but to be honest, I mainly multitask on windows anyway... The trackpad also is not as good as on the magic keyboard, but I don't use it as a laptop so I don't care...
For many things they are equivalent (google and microsoft apps, streaming, notetaking and pdf, but I have to say with the Samsung it's almost all free, while with iPad you need to buy additional stuff (note taking, annotating pdf etc.) or it's more expensive (using is as a second monitor with pen for windows requires a $30 annual subscription vs $10 one off on Android with Superdisplay, and it works amazingly well). But again some apps are better and cheaper on iPads, like lumafusion or procreate.
Also, the price of upgrades is much cheaper with Samung, going from 128GB 6GB RAM to 256 8GB RAM is on $70 more, and you can put 1TB microsd (I put a 512 GB microsd I bought for $65).

I am intrigued by the suggested infuse, nplayer options. I have a 9.7” iPad Pro, which I have hooked up via hdmi to my tv. When I play a ripped mp4 movie, stored on the iPad, I get audio, but just a black screen. This is using VLC media player. Would infuse/nplayer solve this problem or, is there something else going on?

Something else is going on - I can play to a monitor with VLC, no problems. You could try the free version of Infuse to check with that app.

I was able to get the movies to play. I downloaded them to FileBrowser for Business and then selected to open them with VLC. That combo worked for me. --Not sure why, but I will not argue with success.

I was taking advantage of the holidays to watch some movies. I used my Galaxy Tab S7+. One thing I really like is the ability to seamlessly move from watching it around the house while doing other things (by the way, the magnetic kickstand cover is great for that and it's lighter than iPad pro 12.9 plus smart covert) and then just plugging it into a monitor and continue watching it there via Dex (while still being able to use the tablet, as Dex is set to be only on the external screen when plugged into it... )
The iPad would just mirror its display with its bad aspect ratio for movies, while the Samsung tablet adapts to the external display and remains completely available for use as a tablet...
Then sure there are also the nice deep blacks of the oled screen, which are great for 21:9 movies with big black bars even on a 16:10 display. Hope the iPad pro will be able to do it at some point (the 12.9in one for me, as I don't like to watch these widescreen movies on anything less than 12in...). Hopefully iPadOS 15?
I think the iPad can Airplay a video, but it requires Apple TV to do it.
