So these ported apps will sit on your screen as a small window (no full screen)? I guess this could work for some of them, it will be interesting to see how this works out. Looking forward to the first Apple Silicon iMac.

It would be like widgets on steroid and it will be great.

It's still opt-out, regardless if the AR app from IKEA is not compatible.
In the corresponding WWDC session they specifically stated that only compatible apps are automatically available?

That's going to be pretty sweet!
All of these have already native Mac versions.

If they follow Apple's guidelines, then no. For an example, iPad apps are designed to be resizable for the slide over, resizable width, full screen, and/or multiple windows (in two separate rotation modes as well).

Apple has been training developers for this for many years, iPad apps should be as flexible as macOS apps.
