I've been selling the current iPhones every year since the 3S. Sold everyone so far, but never seen the market so bad as it appears to be on eBay and Swappa. In the last few days, most of the sales have been generally in the $550-$650 range or close to 40% less than the X's debut last November. Actually over 40% considering sales tax as well.

Never saw discounts like this with hardly any bidding. There are even people "apparently" selling "new" X models for $750-$800 in unopened boxes or so they say.

I"ve got one listed on ebay starting at $650 with no reserve. If it doesn't sell, I'm going to take it off the market and attempt to sell it after Preorder Day. If that doesn't work, I may ride it until the next model appears in Sept '19.

if i where you i sell it on swappa you may have better luck

all so if you sell it for around 650 or 725 you may get some hits keep in mind that the iphone X is a year old now so you wont be able too sell for for that high of a price at 750-800

but do not sell it on ebay you will get scam

It's a first gen device, shouldn't be surprising.

Similar to the 1G Watch, iPad, or iPhone, those didn't hold value unless you were sentimental.

X is still a stellar one. I'm sure nothing major on this iPhone Xs but a slightly better battery, chip, and maybe a gimmick feature. Nothing worth upgrading to unless u can get a deal switching to a new carrier.

That's my plan switching to a new carrier but might not and stick with my X.

Single threaded performance on the A12 is expected to increase by 50% and RAM bumps up to 4GB.

you wont feel the difference in day to day use. Anything after iPhone 6s and up is negligible in normal use.
If your uploading 4k video thats a different thing but normal tasks you wont see a huge difference.
you think that 50% boost will make you load safari faster? Or make you take snapchat pics faster or An email faster. Nope

Music Magpie is offering me £650 for my X. That’s a website in the UK where you don’t need to waiting for bidding etc they just take it off your hands

The resale value will continue to drop only from this point Forward. The used market is flooded with iPhone X’s and will continue to until Now that Apples Keynote has been announced. Consumers are looking to upgrade and maximize profits based offnused devices.

Agreed. The boost in processing power always seems minor when used with the newest iOS.

the A12 processor will probably load your apps 0.23 seconds faster than the A11 chip and at the end of the day 2 or 3 hours of extra battery life ;)

What are music magpie like to sell to? I've never used them. I've got £635 from Envirofone who I've used before and are ok but I can't be doing with the whole deduction for a tiny scratch lark.

I have been procrastinating over this very thing this week and have probably left selling my X too late. If it is really an ‘S’ update and all the XS brings is what I would call under the cover improvements to speed and battery then other than maybe being tempted by the larger model I cannot see a reason to dump the X. I’m just curious to see if Apple may have some Xs or Xs max (terrible name if true) exclusive features up their sleeves? If they did though someone clever would have uncovered a clue to that in the iOS12 beta surely?.

I think the 2nd hand value of the X has already been hit so whilst I usually shift my iPhone on a week or 2 before the keynote I think I am going to wait and see now. I am using an android right now anyway so my X is sitting in the draw.

I made a thread about this earlier. I ended up selling my X in August and got $1,100 CDN for it (price with tax was $1,490). Essentially a 74% return, which i am happy about as it was a used phone, although it had no damage at all and looked brand new. If you're trying to sell now, it would a few hundred less easily. I've seen on kijiji iPhone X's 64GB sealed brand new selling for 1,100 now...

If there was no Xs Max, i wouldn't be upgrading. It's usually a new form factor, or bigger/better displays that gets me to upgrade, otherwise i don't really care to. My next upgrade will be either when Apple changes the form factor (or eliminates the notch) or 5G is implemented, then I'll get a 5G capable iPhone.

The max has me curious but I think it will be too big, my android phone is currently the S9+ which I think is just about at my limit and is narrower and easier to use than the current plus sized iPhones (same size as max) I think the rumoured cheaper model looks to be best size of the three which is a shame. Of course as soon as I see the max I am going to want one!

I was hoping that we could see some other interesting xs features that may prove hardware dependent, things like an always on display which I always miss from android when I use my iPhone. If the rumours are true though it looks like they do have half an eye on price this year as they recognise that they probably pushed it too far last year.

The 6.5 model will be easier in the hand than the S9 plus.

Size wise it won’t be, if the leaks are true the max is the same size as the plus iPhones which makes it larger and heavier than the S9 plus.

It may be better ergonomically though so could be more comfortable.

It’s going to be bigger but I expect it will be more ergonomic than the S9 plus.

The X is a new additional tier above anything that came before. I’m guessing people would rather have a new 8, or it’s replacemrnt, than a used X for similar money.

They are probably more picky than environfone to be honest. I use environfone to be honest, it was just an example

Well that's kind subjective. I can tell the difference generation to generation with iOS devices, and the difference for me is not negligible at all.

Uploading 4K has to do with your internet upload speed, not the hardware much. Editing 4K, there will be a big difference between generations, and the X or 8 Plus is a lot faster than say, a 6S.

That supposed 50% boost (I personally doubt it will be that big) will definitely impact how fast safari loads pages, but that also depends on your internet connection and other factors.

If you're attaching pics or other things to your emails, the ram and soc differences can be felt. Dunno about Snapchat lol don't use that.

Agreed. The X has had the worse resale value out of any iPhone I have sold since the iPhone 5's. I have never seen a $1200 phone be only worth $750-850 a year later. So me switching to the Note 9, was easier because I know it will lose value too, but it's not much different than the X either.

The X is worth more then 750-850. I sold mine for 870 locally with out apple care +, which I cancelled instead and got a check for 109.00.
