You are welcome, m8.
Here is the process:

I. Method:
1. Download the .dmg file: Download MySpellXHU1.0.dmg (1.5 MB)
2. Install/mount it.
3. In "System Preferences" proceed to "Keyboard", in this submenu click on "Text". Here, under "Spelling:" find "Magyar (könyvtár)" and choose it.

II. Method:
1. Download the helyesírás.zip.
2. Unzip, you will have two files that you have to copy to /Library/Spelling (if you don't have a "Spelling" folder, make one) folder.
3. In "System Preferences" proceed to "Keyboard", in this submenu click on "Text". Here, under "Spelling:" find "Magyar (könyvtár)" and choose it.

From now on, you will have a Hungarian spellchecker in all Cocoa based apps (i.e. Pages etc.) on your Mac. :)

Very zsir király! Köszönöm!

I am glad it works.
(Nagyon szívesen).

I does. Tried it in Pages just now. Thing is, is there a way to get Pages to use that dictionary when I switch to the Hungarian keyboard? I have tried and I can't seem to get it. I tried "Automatic by Keyboard" but it didn't seem to work. I'll mess again but maybe I'm missing something?

After you switch to the Hungarian keyboard what doeas appear in Pages Spelling and Grammar sub-menu when you open it? Please check there whether "Magyar (könyvtár") is set.

It says "U.S. English", though it does have the drop-down menu to chose Hungarian there. Be nice to just have it change automatically though...

I have all Apple products. (Macbook, IPP, iPhone etc)
Ive never used Pages. Is there a big difference between the two.
Im about to start writing a book. For those that have used both, Is there a benefit switching to Pages? Or just stick with what I know

If you just want text on a page, Pages is probably fine. I you are setting up and/or designing a book, neither of these applications will be suitable. You want something like Adobe InDesign.

I use OpeOffice in place of Pages and Word. I have been for at ;east ten years. It's free and very similar to Word. The layout and controls are different, but it has pretty much all of the same functionality.

True. But considering that this was posted in the iOS Apps section, I assumed that the OP was looking for solutions that would be viable on the iOS devices like the iPad at the very least, and probably with an eye toward cross-platform.

What do you use for editing documents across platforms?

The day that there is an iOS version of LibreOffice, I'm there!

Having previously (in this thread) recommended the latest version of Pages (specifically for cross-platform and file compatibility), I've started an experiment today of switching from Pages to Word. The limitations of iOS Pages has begun to get tiresome... no smartquotes, no direct application of character styles, no easy way of using list styles changing only the numbering style (numeric vs. alphabetic), etc.

So I'm going to force myself to use Word (OSX and iOS) for my main word processing duties, most of which makes use of moderate/advanced formats and layouts.

So far: Page rendering on iOS Word is excellent. Even using "unconventional" fonts. (I have created a font of my handwriting that I use in some of these documents)

Character styles... ah. tap to highlight the text, tap the style menu, select the style... BAM!

It's the little things in life. LOL :D

Oops. I didn't see where I was posting.

I was using pages for a long time before the ios versions of word. I have to say that the ipad version of word is better than pages . Pages is simpler to pick up and start using . On the iphone , word beats pages hands down because it has the option of making text reflow and making it bigger on the small size phone screen. Makes it much easier to edit documents on the fly on the iphone compared to pages where repeated zooming in and zooming out is needed to edit on the iphone .The big advantages of pages is that there is an option to export the document to any app whereas in word (on the free version) you can only export to onedrive or box

How is Google Docs - could it be an alternative for replacing Word on iPhone and PC? Word on iPhone offers basic functionality unless you subscribe Office 365, so is Docs an alternative?

But using Pages is a lot like like using the Notes app. It's really bare bones. You can do it, but in the end you won't be satisfied.
That's strange, since Pages is, while a bit less powerful, in the same domain as Word. Is there something specific you miss, apart from the messy user interface?

Pages - note app
Word - text processing app

E.g. equations (cant be done with ipad).

Pages - note app
Word - text processing app
Why do you say that?

There is no standard definition of what constitutes a "text processing" app. So when someone claims that such-n-such doesn't meet that non-existent definition it usually means, "That app is NOT a text processing app because it lacks the feature that *I* need."

E.g. equations (cant be done with ipad).

Part of me still wants to use Pages, but since I'll need Word for compatibility why split my usage between Pages 6 and Word when I can just consolidate and get all the more skilled with word?

I've used Word/Excel on iOS/macOS via Dropbox and OneDrive for over a year with no issues.

I still have Pages '09 for special uses, but it's rare. It's still my favorite word processor and I'd use it everyday if it was still getting compatibility updates. Even though it's my favorite tool I won't keeping using it know I got it will soon be rendered useless in macOS.

@sracer curious if your experiment was a success and if you've abandoned Pages on iOS.

My experiment of relying on MS Office for OSX and iOS has worked out well but I haven't decided to abandon iWork yet. Using the latest iWork on my 12.9 iPP, iMac, and MBA, has worked out even better. icloud syncing has proven itself to be more reliable for me than OneDrive (surprising to me) and the ios version of the apps are really well designed. I still rely on Pages '09 for those more advanced formatted documents.

So for the foreseeable future, I'll push the latest iWork to the limit and when I can't, i'll switch over to MS Office (if LibreOffice still doesn't have an ios version by the time i need it).

One really nice feature that I discovered last night that wasn't previously possible was the ability to create custom templates in the iOS version instead of just duplicating a document.

One area where I find Word superior is how it handles default multilevel bulleted lists for quick notes (yes, Word/Pages probably isn't the best note-taking program, but you use what works for you). Pages doesn't indent bullets enough to differentiate them and it doesn't alternate the bullets unless you use Note Taking. I created my own multiple list style and since you can no longer import styles in Pages ( ) I saved it as a template in the macOS version and found out that you can send the .template file to the iPad and save it as a template there too! Kind of awkward that they don't just sync templates between the two like you'd expect.

Also, a note about iCloud syncing, I too was impressed how well it handled it. I did a few tests last night saving and moving documents between the Pages folder and other folders in iCloud Drive and it synced perfectly and - for the first time in ages - worked intuitively. I can delete the local iPad copy or the iCloud Drive copy which removes it from both the Pages folder and the other folder. It's also a nice touch that if you use the iCloud Drive app to find Pages files that aren't in the generic Pages folder and you tap them, they open instantly in Pages. I wish it was like this with .docx files.

However, if you are into quickly making an eBook that looks great, Pages is the easiest of them.

I'm not totally sure Word for iOS supports equations.
