When I get home, I'll walk you through the process. It is easy and you'll have a Hungarian Spellchecker (just in case).
That would be awesome of you, thanks!

You are welcome, m8.
Here is the process:
I. Method:
1. Download the .dmg file: Download MySpellXHU1.0.dmg (1.5 MB)
2. Install/mount it.
3. In "System Preferences" proceed to "Keyboard", in this submenu click on "Text". Here, under "Spelling:" find "Magyar (könyvtár)" and choose it.
II. Method:
1. Download the helyesírás.zip.
2. Unzip, you will have two files that you have to copy to /Library/Spelling (if you don't have a "Spelling" folder, make one) folder.
3. In "System Preferences" proceed to "Keyboard", in this submenu click on "Text". Here, under "Spelling:" find "Magyar (könyvtár)" and choose it.
From now on, you will have a Hungarian spellchecker in all Cocoa based apps (i.e. Pages etc.) on your Mac.
(Ha kérdésed van vagy problémába ütközöl, írj).
I am glad it works.
(Nagyon szívesen).
After you switch to the Hungarian keyboard what doeas appear in Pages Spelling and Grammar sub-menu when you open it? Please check there whether "Magyar (könyvtár") is set.
I have all Apple products. (Macbook, IPP, iPhone etc)
Ive never used Pages. Is there a big difference between the two.
Im about to start writing a book. For those that have used both, Is there a benefit switching to Pages? Or just stick with what I know
True. But considering that this was posted in the iOS Apps section, I assumed that the OP was looking for solutions that would be viable on the iOS devices like the iPad at the very least, and probably with an eye toward cross-platform.If you just want text on a page, Pages is probably fine. I you are setting up and/or designing a book, neither of these applications will be suitable. You want something like Adobe InDesign.
I use OpeOffice in place of Pages and Word. I have been for at ;east ten years. It's free and very similar to Word. The layout and controls are different, but it has pretty much all of the same functionality.
When you change it to Hungarian (in the drop-drown menu), does it work?

LOL no worries. I think we all forgot about that.Oops. I didn't see where I was posting.
But what do you use when you need to edit documents across multiple platforms?
That's strange, since Pages is, while a bit less powerful, in the same domain as Word. Is there something specific you miss, apart from the messy user interface? But using Pages is a lot like like using the Notes app. It's really bare bones. You can do it, but in the end you won't be satisfied.

Why do you say that?Pages - note app
Word - text processing app
exhibit A.E.g. equations (cant be done with ipad).

My experiment of relying on MS Office for OSX and iOS has worked out well but I haven't decided to abandon iWork yet. Using the latest iWork on my 12.9 iPP, iMac, and MBA, has worked out even better. icloud syncing has proven itself to be more reliable for me than OneDrive (surprising to me) and the ios version of the apps are really well designed. I still rely on Pages '09 for those more advanced formatted documents.Part of me still wants to use Pages, but since I'll need Word for compatibility why split my usage between Pages 6 and Word when I can just consolidate and get all the more skilled with word?
I've used Word/Excel on iOS/macOS via Dropbox and OneDrive for over a year with no issues.
I still have Pages '09 for special uses, but it's rare. It's still my favorite word processor and I'd use it everyday if it was still getting compatibility updates. Even though it's my favorite tool I won't keeping using it know I got it will soon be rendered useless in macOS.
@sracer curious if your experiment was a success and if you've abandoned Pages on iOS.

So for the foreseeable future, I'll push the latest iWork to the limit and when I can't, i'll switch over to MS Office (if LibreOffice still doesn't have an ios version by the time i need it).
However, if you are into quickly making an eBook that looks great, Pages is the easiest of them.If you just want text on a page, Pages is probably fine. I you are setting up and/or designing a book, neither of these applications will be suitable. You want something like Adobe InDesign.
I'm not totally sure Word for iOS supports equations.E.g. equations (cant be done with ipad).
