Wow dude that really sucks - sorry for your mess =X

This reminds me of the time I was trying to make my pinewood derby car the day before we had to race them and I got carried away with the sander and saw and ended up rounding it and eventually cutting it in half.

Not quite as bad as your situation, but at least it still runs. (Mine didn't.)

Then; What is the best way to upgrade the MBP. I am looking at upgrading the current HD to the Hitachi 160G HD from OWC. If I purchase this where is the best place to get it installed. I live in MD or is there mail-order for doing this?

Bill.....

I've only done it once with my PowerBook G4, and ended up causing some slight damage to the casing around the DVD slot (don't trust the upgrade guide at MacFixit for the PowerBook G4, it's wrong)...

I did the same thisng when I upgraded my Powerbook G4. I couple deep scratches and a bent bit here and there right around the DVD slot. But it still works so that's something.

I might be able to help..

I sympathise with you, I did a stupid thing with my 15" MacBook Pro last year which meant it was destroyed.
- I spilt a glass of white wine on it and sent it to its grave as the logic board fizzed and popped.
It does mean however, that I have a case that you could use. (Ive already canablised the hdd and DVDROM).
You can have it for the cost of postage if (I'm in the UK) if you want?

I sent you a private message here in the forums with my email address, drop me a line you are interested.

/David.
