And the main lens also has ~21% larger pixels on Pro Max vs Pro
Yikes, thats a big deal. its still not going to make me purchase the MAX as i cant stand that size factor. Why does the MAX have all these extra camera feature and not the small 12 Pro? were they unable to fit the new camera sensors of the MAX into the smaller 12 Pro enclosure?

Im personally not getting the MAX by any means and its painful to see that the MAX got a better camera this year, that thing is simply too large to use on a daily basis so if i do upgrade this year it will be the small iPhone 12 Pro, i need a phone, not a phablet.

What are the differences between the REGULAR iPhone 12 and the small iPhone 12 Pro?
Extra camera, more ram, liar sensor, maybe better screen (samsung vs BOE?)

Huh? The small 12 Pro also has LIDAR, i was under the impression they had same RAM as well? i think you misundersood my question thinking i asked what the difference was between the NON Pro iPhone 12 compared to the iPhone 12 Pro MAX

To me ABSOLUTELY not. The only reason I’d want to go pro max is if I wanted the big screen. I don’t really care much for the extra camera features. Yes the pro max has more ram but I’m ok with 4 on the 12. I’ll go pro next year when pro motion makes the cut. This year I’ll settle for the iphone 12

12 Pro Max has more ram than the small 12 Pro?

if I order on Friday and decide I want a mini, 14 days would have passed. how do I swap for another phone once all the reviews come out? I think holiday returns start mid November usually.apple put us in a tough spot with these spreads. I can wait but I dont want the phones to sell out due to low china supply. who knows

I want to capture quality convenient footage and do want the option of flexibility when in low light conditions but dont really want the biggest phone. Is the Max a big improvement over the 12 Pro or will I barely use the extras of the MAX?

The Max will have significantly better photos and video.

I am also wondering if the larger phone with better camera system is worth the trade-off regarding real world usage. Of course the 12 pro max will do better in low light with the new OIS and also capturing more light. I just haven’t seemed to have huge issues with my 11 PM. The LiDAR addition should also help in low light conditions. I dunno, I just was heavily moving toward the smaller 12 pro this year vs. my current pro max. I am very curious to see reviews and actual shot to shot comparisons between the 2 new pros. i imagine reviewers won’t have them in their hands until after release date or does apple usually give a few out to reviewers prior to delivery dates?
