Hi HelsinkiMac,

Well, I also remembered that the single CPU version has the Airport card installed and did not fiddle about this minor thing when I was offered the dual Mac Pro instead and supposed that it also comes with it. But soon after the first launch I realized that Apple did not bundle wireless cards with their base 2009 DP models. Nevertheless I found one cheap on eBay. Interestingly enough, the Bluetooth card is installed by default, though this is not a main concern for me, I could live without it. Certainly I would say that putting a wireless card instead would have made much more sense if one had to choose between the two. Never mind.

You definitely do it alright by upgrading your Mac Pro with an SSD, it will make a great impact on the overall performance and user experience.

Thanks for sharing us with your experience on registration. Now I also see that I have to send the copy of my receipt and in principle everything should be ok with warranty. On the other hand, now I am in a bit of agony regarding the CPU upgrade, since it might turn out that my initial plan does not work out. So I might send back the new CPU in that case and hold off for a while (or eventually sell the Mac Pro). I will have to see what else could be done.

Thanks HelsinkiMac for the info regarding registration. I still haven't heard anything from Apple yet. Keeping my fingers crossed.

NightSun, can't help with your problems, but that sure is a disappointment. I saw your other thread about it, hopefully someone will come up with a solution.

Night Sun I have a cpu install suggestion for you. assuming the problem is the correct tightening of the screws A safe way would be to buy nylon washers like these.

buy 100

stack 10 or so per bolt per bolt and tighten. if too loose remove 1 washer from each bolt repeat the procedure. sooner or later you woulds get the correct tension. I know the washers I linked are thin and close to the correct diameter 2mm to 4mm has got to be the correct width just not sure. cost is low to fool around and try.
