Yes. He was most likely involved in the early process and/or put the watch on his supposed "Apple roadmap for the next twenty years"-plan-thingy.

Oh, and before anyone else says it:

"NOOO, Steve Jobs wouldn't have approved something that looks SO UGLY.! ! !"

Yes, he would have. And its not ugly. Its bulky.

It's hard to say. Certainly some things about it would've been different. Do we know how long it has actually been in development? That would tell us more about how much involvement Steve may have had in its early development, if any.

I'm more curious what the software would've been like if Forstall was still at Apple.

It doesn't matter. Today is the day that Tim Cook showed that innovation and great products are not dead at Apple.

In the long-run, :apple:Pay is more important than the watch, but they're both great.

No work on the Apple Watch whilst Steve Jobs was alive

Yes. He was most likely involved in the early process and/or put the watch on his supposed "Apple roadmap for the next twenty years"-plan-thingy. …

It seems that work on the Apple watch did not begin until after his death …

… Do we know how long it has actually been in development? …

I don't, but a few hours ago:

Interviewer: "Did (Steve Jobs) have any idea the Apple Watch was coming?"

Tim Cook: "Yeah, we started working on it, er … after his passing. But …"

… I'm more curious what the software would've been like if Forstall was still at Apple.

I try to avoid focusing on individuals, but that's an interesting thought.

I want to say no, because I feel like he wouldn't have wanted so much customization. And the thickness would've been a good debate. But I also think he would be proud of what his company has made. I don't really know!?!

Clearly No. The media is making fun of the Apple Watch http://finance.yahoo.com/news/cant-just-admit-apple-watch-170750775.html and Steve would have known in advance that would happen if an Apple Watch had the same limitations as a Samsung watch (8 hour battery life and requires tethering to a phone).

Business Insider is click bait. They operate on the Gawker model and will publish anything that will generate ad impressions which determines their pay. I also noticed that they turned hugely negative on Apple at about the same time that Samsung became a major sponsor of the site.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he would have loved it. I'm not sure he would dig the "Digital Crown" though, pretty sure he would have driven the team to come up with a better solution. But who knows, maybe Steve Jobs would have loved the digital crown. Can't really say.

Someone posted elsewhere that Steve didn't even wear a watch during keynotes, presentations, etc.

Interesting that the Apple Watch isn't among the four year's worth of products that Jobs left Apple and it hasn't even been four years since his death. Unless he provided the initial idea but they hadn't done any work on it.

Someone posted elsewhere that Steve didn't even wear a watch during keynotes, presentations, etc.

Maybe he thought they were sh:apple:t, just as he did all cell phones before the iPhone.

Serious Question!

I'm not sure on this one.

Just why not? Serious question?

Steve released iPod, which lots of people around here thought it was ugly and useless. Steve released the iPad which lots of people around here said it was stupid, thick as a brick, ugly and useless. Dare I say, people around here even thought the iPhone was terrible. Because you know..... people around here know "everything", including what Steve would have done.

It's like a Deja vu now......

There is a Mickey Mouse watch face....something tells me Forstall may have been involved prior to his ousting from Apple.
