I think they would have to do a bit more with software, and officially have a 3 app split view or 2 apps in slide over to really take advantage of that size

Speak for yourself. I'd love to see a 15" or greater for desktop use.
Yeah a large iPad for desktop use would be good for artists and designers, etc. I think it should be larger than 15 inches in that case

I would consider a 15" only if the OS made more efficient use of the space. I think it would be better to skip to 25" or so for professional artists in a desktop setting.

Seriously considering purchasing the 10.5 to replace my worst mac purchase ever (2016 Macbook Pro). From what I have seen, iOS 11 has just enough to allow it to function as a full mobile computer for my needs and that 120hz screen is icing on the cake.

What don't you like about the 2016 Pro? Is it the issues many seem to have with it? iOS 11 might change my mind and get me to buy a 12.9" Pro, but for now I only use my Mac and iPhone, I find no use for a tablet for now.

I am not sure about the issues others are having with it but in my opinion it just is not a polished laptop that I have come to expect from a mac. It takes quite awhile to boot (longer then my 2013 retina did), it takes quite awhile to wake from sleep, I have wifi issues when it does wake from sleep to the point that I have to disable wifi and restart it before use, and for a 15 watt processor (non TB here) it gets quite hot while simply browsing the web, plus it gets worse battery life then my previous retina did. I have gone as far as wiping the machine and reinstalling macOS to see if some if these issues could be resolved to no avail. It just is not of the quality that I expect from an apple laptop.

I wonder if the 2017 is any better. They really didn't do a good job with polishing the redesigned Pros and it's hurt their reputation.

I would hope so because if the macbook line continues as it was from 2016 then apple might be in trouble with the mac lineup. Especially considering the added competition from new products like the surface laptop and now their own ipads.

For me that would be too big for an iPad. To replace a desktop/ laptop it would need some seriously better multitasking, even better than we see in iOS11.

I actually laughed out loud when I read this thread title. Absolutely not. The 12.9 inch is already obscenely large, adding another two inches on to that would just be rediculous. With all that real estate it’d cut down portability, accessibility, etc.

Intel have made good improvements with Kaby Lake but it's not enough IMO, I feel like Apple are cornered in what they can do with their Mac line

I think a larger version could be popular as a Surface studio competitor but it should run MacOS at that point
