Define "White"?

If you mean white color from Polycarbonate, just like in MBW and pre 2008 iMac, i'd say no thanks .. That's a definite downgrade from current iMac, unless they are priced around $800 and using 17" screen, there's no reason Apple going back that way

But if the white comes from color-anodized aluminium, that would be a welcome change. In fact, Apple should make options about iMac colors. Since aluminium able to be color-anodized, with outstanding durability and color consistency, then I think it's time for us to see red, orange, blue, purple, or even green iMac .. just like old times 1998 iMac :)

Only in aluminium, and iX sandy bridge intel processor
Would love a PINK one- like the iPod Nano pink. :D Yes, I am a girl LOL:p

Although I don't think they should go back to the white plastic, introducing a variety of colours to the current style would be quite cool, in my opinion. Not terribly flashy colours, but well-styled coated aluminium colour options (black, white and maybe glossy colours?). I doubt that would ever happen, of course.

I voted no because I am not a fan of the white :apple: products. I prefer the aluminum look of the iMac's and the black on the iDevices.

It should a mirror covered shell so people quit complaining about how reflective the screen is:D.

I like the current iMacs, but I like the matte screen on the white ones. Yea, if they made a white iMac with the shape of the current one I'd be all for it.

I like the white, it looks clean, but also harder to keep clean and fingerprint free as a result!

Frankly I have never had a problem. I don't remember the last time I had to clean it. Perhaps cleaning the screen, however the white colour had nothing to do it. My mother in law is always cleaning the black on her iMac as dust shows much easier.

How about a special edition version of the iMac? Like a (RED) version, completely black with a bit red apple and front and back? That would be very sexy.

I think that, Apple as a company has grown a lot since the gumdrop iMacs and they want to show that Apple is more then a kiddie friendly company that caters to young hipsters, they was class, but they also want a little sophistication as well. The current aluminium iMac showcases that off well, its sleek, sexy design but its also very conservative, it could belong in a office building, or in a science lab, or in a bank or meeting conference, but its also on the desk of kids, musicians, liberal arts majors etc. They need a mass appeal. You can't go into a bank and see a bunch of multi colored imacs, that would seem weird. Should they offer other colors? Sure, I don't think they will however.

hmm never seen a bank with Mac's , here they all have only generic windows pc's mostly ibm or dell, never mind makes it easier to hack into so dont give them ideas :D
but the thing is for the old polycarbonate iMacs you could buy covers back and front to give them another color if you liked

but on the new alu ones that is not possible any more as the case is now a vital part of the cooling system

but i actually like that idea here

the red /black iMac which i find looks gorgeous , but the white magic mouse and a grey and white keyboard ...sorry that does not match up, and i dont like the idea of having to use a windows generic keyboard on a Mac to match colors :(

on the white polycarbonate iMac everything is matching in color , and design , even the new alu keyboard is looking great as the grey is matching the stand and the white keys match the iMac , but on the new black and grey ones the keyboard and white magic mouse stick out like a sore thump

yea i found the company who will soon bring color to the iMac back , no its not apple
http://www.colorwarepc.com/
ok its not cheap , but you can have the Mac in the color you like and you can alter anything case, keyboard to match and to your taste .....so far only on the small Mac's (Macbooks and minis and iPads , keyboard and magic mouse, magic trackpad ...but they plan to offer it for the iMac too ..so exited :)

great so not everything is lost just have to wait ..., even the mini can look gorgeous in the right color :)

I voted no, however I'd like to see a chinless 30", even if it's same specifications as 27" :b

Memory from 2010 MBP Pro to 2007 iMac

I never had one of the white ones, but I think I'm happy about it. I just like the more modern look of the current ones.

different people have different tastes , i just find the present color choice a bit to conservative ,i might be over 40 but hey i dont need to be that conservative on my desk, after all it was the looks of a nice clean white eMac that made me switch from linux to OSX , grey and black sorry sorry but i dont want my computer to look conservative now , maybe we can talk again about black and grey when i am 80 :(
but once the company colorware offers a colorful choice for the iMac then i really consider buying a new iMac , but from them and i dont care if its $500 or even $1000 more expensive , i only need to find out who makes a cover after i take the glossy glass off , the cardbord option does not appeal to me

I definitely like the design of my aluminum iMac more than any of the white ones. It's just a classier look, and it matches my iPad, iPod, and iPhone nicely (even though the pad and phone are both in cases).

crab alloy , it gets scratches

i would go for another metal
Tungsten carbide its about between 8 and 9 on the Mohs scale is said to be the most scratch resistant in the world, does not deform and is the only metal that can be permanently polished. Tungsten carbide is four times harder than titanium.
and it can be polished to a mirror finish that lasts and you need actually diamonds to scratch it and it only melts at about 2800+ degree Celsius

No way...especially not with the cheap polycarbonate. I think the aluminum body is a perfect combination of timeless beauty and quality in both material and color. Also the screen looks way better with the edge to edge glas instead of the cheap-monitor-like embedded panel of the white iMac.
