"Martian men can move unseen", so it is unknown at this time what their true nature is.
I say let's get it going already - perhaps siphon off some pollution here and ship it there to help create greenhouse effect there and warm it up..;)

Don't put me in charge of piloting our ship to Mars. Since red isn't my best color, I'm liable to miss it and we'll end up lost in the Asteroid Belt. And I never ask for directions when I'm driving.

if it had been successfully terraformed, why not? In its current state, no way. Why travel to Mars to live in a desert when, with almost the same degree of difficulty, I can move to the Gobi.

I would think about it, but it would really depend on how the internet connection works up there.

NASA is working on getting a 10Mbit connection up and running. Planned to be launched 2010 or so. It will only work 9 months of the year so they would need to put in a relay station or two eventually.

Be forewarned though. There is a lag time of up to an hour round trip. Web browsing wouldn't work but email and netnews would be fine

Who cares about the Internet connection to Earth? As long as their are enough of us on Mars, we'll have our own Martian intranet so we can chat about who saw the eclipse when the Earth passed in front of the sun.

I wonder if they have Lube™ on mars. :D
They do, but only very limited supplies as most have to be shipped from Earth, which could take months! Oh the horror! There is Lube™ substitute made from spit and martian dust. But then you wouldn't know if you were lubricated or chafed.

luv ya bunches! xoxoxo

Changing a flat tire on the autobahn looms as one of the top scary moments of my life. :) Mars couldn't be much worse than there.
