That would be nice. I'd seriously consider an upgrade from my 8 Plus next year if the notch were gone or if it were slimmer.

I can see myself embracing Face ID long before I embrace a notch in my screen. Still... a Touch ID option would be nice... you know... kinda like how they added it to the new MBAs even though we've heard for the last year how Touch ID was dead. :p

Touch id is DEAD, I wish people would get over it so it will finally die! Lol I think they had to add it cause Face ID would be too far for from the person being it’s not a hand held. But in the hand held world, touch ID can go just like the battery percentage! Still mad about that one..

I like the new iPad Pro’s design because it uses elements from the iPhone 5, 5S and SE. I honestly think it could be a sneak peek on next year’s design refresh for the iPhone. I would opt for visible bezels rather than the notch any time! No matter how you look at it, the notch is terrible despite its advantages.

Not on a hand held. As you can see on the XR, the bigger bezels look horrible. Plus Apple can’t say they have a 6.5’ if the bezels were lower... lol

Cool story. I am over it. Was never upset about it actually... it is pretty funny though that they added it to the MBA.

I would actually embrace Face ID with open arms... if only I didn't have to look at a hideous notch in return. That being said... I'll check back next year.

The notch is horrible. Watching any video it is noticeable. If a notchless phone was announced today I bet many people who "love" the notch would be imploding! I LOVE the new iPad design. It looks clean and uniform.

Apple is famous for aesthetically pleasing design and symmetry. There is no way the would design a phone with assymetic bezels. And there is no way they will increase the side or bottom bezels. Hence, the question is moot.

Realky tho, you get use to it and don’t even notice it. I thought that too but days later it was an after thought.

Not using it after a week. It’s nit a factor in your daily use. So much that every other phone does the same thing just about.

Not an issue for me.

The battery percentage display shouldn't be an issue for anyone. A minute flick of the finger or thumb displays it instantly.

It is cause it was a just a look, not an extra flick I have to do 10 times a day. Although it’s becoming less and less needed since the battery’s last all day and night now.

Also, now that the iPads have USB-C, will the the 2019 iPhones adopt that for next years models? What else can they add? They've got OLED, FaceID, 3D Touch, True Tone, and and Dual Camera lenses. They need to have that one new feature in every upgrade.

What you listed are actual features that are improved every year or added to the iPhone, but a physical change by eliminating the Notch is not a feature, that’s an alteration to the actual design.

Without a doubt, primarily because consuming video with the notch is not good and downright sloppy and it's just like having bezels in order to support 16:9 and content otherwise. It's a decent experience app-wise outside of videos when the developers support it, but once they remove the notch in a few years all of the notch lovers will be like "wow look at that all-screen without content being cut off!".

Yes this is exactly what will happen.

It's not necessarily bad. It's just different because we're all used to thin bezels by now. If they were to implement the new iPad Pro's design language in a future iPhone, the screen would more or less look similar to that of the Nokia 7 Plus or the Samsung Galaxy A8 which I would not mind at all.

Exactly. I do feel that apple will match the top bezels to the sides and bottom, and we will have people complaining about large bezels. Apple would normally do that if there are no home buttons. Ipad pro 10.5 had thinner side bezels but a uniform top and bottom bezels. I feel that the new ipad pro could have thinner side bezels like the older ipad pro 10.5 version, but they somehow increased the bezels for uniformity sake.
