If the IPhone X is sold out soon after it's released as rumours would suggest, would you pay over the odds to get one, say from eBay (other online market places are available)?

No. It's a phone. I will order just like everybody else and whenever I receive it, that's when I get it. This iPhone is expensive as it is and I'm not paying an inflated price elsewhere.

Nope I'm pre-ordering on Oct 27th via upgrade with my network provider here in the UK. I suspect i should be able to get one sent to me for release day, but also i don't mind having to wait a few weeks since i've waited a year since i saw the rumours of this device.

256gb Silver version will be mine!!!

Same week I'll be playing Destiny 2 on PC and Mario Odyssey on Switch so its gonna be a great end of Oct for me.

Heck no. I'm going to order one on Oct. 27, but if I don't get it right away, I'll wait. Not that I would do this, but I suspect that there will be people who will pay a lot more than face value for an iPhone X close to launch, enough to cover the cost of buying another new one later.

Nope, seems like a waste of money. What reason could you use to justify spending over the price of the phone, just to have it on day 1? Patience is a virtue. Why waste money just so you can show off a new phone to people who probably won't care that much.

Never. As much excitement and anticipation for the X, it’s still just a phone. By paying for or buying any marked up phone from eBay or any other place no matter how big or small of a markup in price it is, your just benefitting the sad deranged scalper who stole the opportunity of other normal people who wanted the phone.

Would you encourage someone who stole opportunities from others to make a profit to keep doing it? Think about it.

People are doing this for the iPhone 8/plus if eBay is anything to go by!

Nope. I might pay a little bit of a fee ($20 maybe?) to expedite it a week or two, but I’m not paying over retail for an iPhone.

I’m not knocking those who do. Some people have money to burn, some people are really into their phones. There really isn’t a right or wrong answer here.

No question it happens, and we'll see a serious run up on reselling once the X hits the streets, but I'm not willing to pay over what apple sells it for, but that's just me.

The people who do are keeping these scalpers in business but hey if they can afford it and pay way over the odds that's their choice, personally speaking I would never pay more than what the device is worth and that goes for any gadget.

no "effing" way. I only buy from :apple:, any deviation from the plan is a big NO NO . Also if shipping is delayed till 2018 that's it , am moving right on towards the next launch:)

No way I'd pay scalpers for an apple product. I only buy directly from Apple. I will order it at 3:00 am EST; I will receive it when I receive it.

Another big nope. In fact, I got the 8 because I had no desire to play any of those games (including waking up at 3am ET to order), and I didn't want to wait until December-January. At that point, I got my 8 now, and then I'll get the XI (or whatever) in September 2018 on launch day, with the perfected face ID and smaller notch.
