Anyways I do not recommend trying this! It may have bad effect on the iPod and I will not take any responsibility for any damage

The magnet on your MacBook is meant to hold the computer closed.
While it may not be as strong, you can place the remote on the backside of the screen, there it won't scratch the screen.
