I was not planning on picking it up but it seemed that destiny had different plans. I had an active subscription even though I haven't played in months (got the year thing for free Diablo 3), it came out on payday, some of my friends came back to it, and the day after it came out I found myself with a day off in a hotel with free internet. It was too much. I broke down.

So far I am thoroughly impressed. Something about Cata just seemed off to me but Mists is very interesting and the music is especially fantastic. I am really enjoying the monk class and Pandaren starting area. My first few hours were some of the best gaming I've done all year. Good job, Blizzard.

I didn't get the expansion but I went back to try the latest pre expansion patch last night to see if it was worth it. Same as you I am on the year plan for the free diablo (sucker). Anyway I had the opposite experience to you, logged in to my old character which is still in my old guild, sorted my new talents and abilities out, started doing some quests and just logged of because it was utterly dull. I did create a new panda warrior before that but only lasted 5 levels before getting bored.

I still want to like WoW but I just don't have it in me anymore, I do hope you enjoy going back though and enjoy the expansion.

I was very disappointed by cata's raid changes and druid changes, i stopped playing for about 7 months, but came back just to try this expansion. I am leveling a monk with some friends, it's the most fun i've had leveling a healer EVER. I've only made it to Jade Forest on my level 85 but the zone is gorgeous, and they put a lot of effort to make the leveling smooth even though there are hundreds of toons there. I also have to applaud that they turned the game on, no logging out, no servers down. Amazing

I havent bought the expansion yet but I have been having fun with the new pet battles the last couple days

I am enjoying this so far. I've been playing WoW since Vanilla. I had a lot of fun in the original version, TBC, and Wrath, but did not like Cataclysm. I took several long breaks during Cataclysm.

So far Mists has been fun. I hit 90 on one of my characters last week and the variety of dungeons, scenarios, and quests to progress my max level toon is refreshing. I've also started leveling another one of my 85's with my wife and her druid. I have yet to try out a monk or panda though.

The questing was also fun. Sure it was for the most part the same 'ole same 'ole, but it was enjoyable with the new theme, phasing, and story lines.

Transmogging, Account Wide mounts/achievements, and some of the new stuff implemented has also helped me enjoy the game some more.

Overall I am happier after the first week with Mists than Cataclysm....by a long shot.

Same here, been playing off and on since Vanilla and didn't like Cataclysm so much for whatever reason, even though I thoroughly approved of the world changes.

I am kind of treading lightly in MoP - leveling a Pandaren monk, playing around with the pet battle system, while my main drinks brews at Brewfest. Haven't seen the new zones or end-game content yet. I am very much taking my time.

Has anyone tried installing MoP on a mac with an unsupported GPU? I'm getting tired of waiting for an iMac update.

I'm using a 6 year old iMac with an x1600 gpu and the 64bit client with patch 5.0.5 seems to work okay with a few minor glitches.

Do I dare install MoP?

Patch 5.04 is basically MoP. On launch night I didn't have to install anything, everything came in the patch (probably the smoothest launch I've ever been involved in, didn't even have to log out). So if that's working all right upgrading your account shouldn't cause any issues.

That's kind of what I thought. I'll probably give it a try this evening although the pet battles have been keeping me fairly well occupied. I agree with you that this is the smoothest major update that they've done.

Thanks for the reply.

......

I simply could not play WoW without constantly thinking 'SKADOOSH!" every time I see a Panda. I'm even more surprised that Dreamworks hasn't sued Blizzard for copying Kung Fu Panda, as the likeness is obviously copied.

If I'm not mistaken Panderan was a race introduced in the original Warcraft games, well before Kung Fu Panda was a movie. :)

I was a hardcore raider and left during TBC.. Just got burned out.

I was really looking forward to GW2 because of the better graphics, gameplay, etc... but on a whim, I accepted a SoR, and I have to say I find wow more enjoyable. Yeah, grinding sucks..but once you get to MoP, it's pretty entertaining.

I have to say, after playing in the new zones, this expansion is fantastic. It's just so fun and interesting. Best music I've heard in a video game in a while too.

I used to be hardcore about wow for about two and a half years. I started back before any of the expansions and would play for hours and hours on end back when I was in college. I played off and on the past year through the expansions, so I have a couple of 85 chars. I plan to get my priest to 90, run a couple of raids, then take a break again.

So far, I am liking the expansion. The 5-man dungeons are harder than the previous expansion...or maybe I am just a little rusty. :)

They seem to be very technical which makes pugs tough (no communication on what you should do). I have greatly enjoyed the instances so far.

You can get it on iTunes (Mist of Pandaria). It is very good.

Bleh, i'm sure the other high level zones might be more enjoyable, but i'm just laboring thru the new starting area. This quests are so boring and the story is doin nothing for me. What I wouldn't give to get an epic tale like BC or LK back in the game, i'd be playing/streaming/youtubing nonstop.

Do you mean Jade Forest or the actual Pandaren starting zone?

Jade Forest is a bit of a slow starter, I really enjoyed the questing in this expansion, the story it follows is decent and you feel like you are working towards something rather than just grinding quests for XP.

Just the starting zone. But first off lemme say i'm not much of a quester. After leveling my first 1-2 toons i've never really read quests I just kinda run thru them when I do them. I DID enjoy the new Silverpine Forest questing style, it was cool but I think that had something to do with all the cool Northrend features they added to it. Having said that, I usually spam dungeons all the way to top level, and then proceed to raid and do BGS all the time.

I think i'm just into the darker content anyways. I miss the days of BC and LK. Cata i couldn't get into, and I wasn't around for Vanilla.

I understand how you feel about levelling another character, I can't manage it at all any more. I will play my most recent main character but no way would I want to try and level up all the way again and re buy all those riding skills and level professions etc

I found the best way to deal with the grind is to mix it up as much as possible but in this game that actually slows your levelling speed to do dungeons and pvp while questing for levels. Pure questing is fast but ultimately doing it for 90 levels it does get really dull.

I've been trying to do some hard core raiding on kiljaden but its so hard to find quality raiders. if anyone is interested send me a tell!
