Just rock the jailbreak.... I think jail broken 3.2 on my iPad runs way better then 4.0 on my 3GS... Multitasking, folders... Cydias versions are better... And sbsettings is wonderful.... Unless something else amazing comes with 4.0, I won't be updating my iPad..... Just my $.02....

A week ago, the wait didn't bother me. Having a 4 since Thu though, crikey, now it can't come soon enough. I've already slipped into the habit of pressing the home button twice on my iPad and repeatedly being disappointed :(

As someone else said, it's not simply the multitasking but the benefit of fast app switching.

Why are there so many people disapointed that it is November, just à few months before (an unknown and vague) iPad2? If you have ios4 and you have an iPad, why the need for an ipad2?
Is the original then not good enough all of a sudden? I for one hope to be using my iPad for years to come.

November is still a longtime and much later than I hoped, because I like the improvements of ios4 on my iPhone 4 a lot. But I rather have a good ios4 in November than a half baked version in September and another update in November.

This actually makes me laugh. I had a bad experience at the genius bar with my iPad and at one point the genius told me that my problem would be fixed 'this summer' with iOS4. I told him that iOS4 for the iPad wouldn't be released until fall and he said, "end of summer, fall, it's the same thing" complete with a shrug. November is not summer, not even close. Obviously, he must have been new to Apple!

Use circuitous to fastapp switch

There are lots of countries where the iPad isn't even close to launching yet. I live in one of those. The least of my worries is ios4 launch for iPad. Surely it is far more important that quality apps continue to become available rather than a few tweaks to the operating system. That is one of the things I have been happy to wait for, watching all the excellent apps launching and sticking them into my wish list in iTunes

Well, that's fair enough. However I find it really jarring moving between my iPhone 4 and iPad. IOS4 is just so slick by comparison, the lack of multitasking and (especially) folders or unified mailbox is really annoying.

Perhaps we should be glad.

I don't suppose OS4 is finished and they are just sitting around drinking coffee waiting for November just out of spite.

Hopefully this may mean OS4 on the iPad will be different to OS4 on the iPhone.

After all they are different products for different markets, so we may get enhancements that are different to the iPhone.

Perhaps other apps are going to be made more independent of needing docking to make things work?

since the iPhone 2G if you want to enjoy the full power of an iPhone/iPad then you must jailbreak. if you want to wait for apple to give it to you then get in line.

The iPad can do soooo much stuff that Apple may incorporate by iPad 3 or 4 so if you wanna wait that's your decision but if you want to have true multitasking, usb support for external HDD's, and basically most of the stuff that makes the iPad compete with a netbook then you can JB or complain and wait for what might or might not happen.

The tools to make your iPad accomplish all the things you think are missing are already available so if you feel like Apple must deliver it then you will be complaining forever.

The choice is yours

If it's nothing more than the iOS4 for iphone, I don't see what it will really add? Folders? Multitasking? It's not true multitasking so who care?

Yea really who would want to listen to pandora or not have all those icons on their screen or upload a video while i was doing something else or us my gps app and another app or switching between pages and a drawing app to take notes. Your right why would you ever want to do that. Real multitasking please!!!!

oohlalalalalala

I didn't see this post.. I didn't see this post..

I declare to myself that I don't know anything about iPad update.. I am gonna be content with my current iPad

(Brainwashing myself)

What a bunch of whiners. Do the < 1 minute zero penalty jailbreak and multitask with your iPad.

Anyone can do it. Ping me or anyone on here that knows how and we will gladly help you through it step by step.

Handwriting

I really hope :apple: is or will include handwriting recognition in some version of iOS4 for iPad. Wasn't it called inkwell in OSX? IMO its a blaring omission for a tablet. I like to think this is the reason for the fall update.

This discussion is beyond strange. So will you sell your iPhone 4's if the fall iPad upgrade has considerably more features not yet available in the current IOS4?
