Blizzard World of Warcraft Cataclysm was tested Full Screen, 1x Multisampling, and "Fair" Quality (since the 13" MacBook Pro's integrated GPU is not allowed to go higher). Our "Narache Village Totem to Tree Sprint" emphasizes GPU over CPU. (Higher numbers are better. RED bar means fastest.)

This test is done in low pop arenas, so you'll get the idea.
The new 13-inch MBP will not be able to keep even 20 FPS in raids at 1280x800 res at fair settings. It might not even keep 30 fps at lowest possible settings in raids either..

As for the 6750m being bet by the 330m smells horrible drivers or bad AMD support from blizzard.

I didn't have a problem on a 10man raid on the 13" i7 and it never dipped in FPS. I have it capped at 25FPS though but it never dropped from there. I had ultra view distance, high details and fair other stuff...

I can't speak for 25 man raids but I don't do those. My video.

SInce the MBP has a 60hz refresh rate on screen you should set it to 30 FPS, since 25 fps will basically be same as 20 fps.

Also BH raids are way less demanding, since there are hardly any graphics around the boss.

I have last years MBP (which is barefeats test is 3 times as fast) and i still have FPS dipping below 20 (usually stays above 30 fps tho) in raids with settings on high.

Thank you guys on all your posts....I decided to go with the 27" iMac i3,ATI 5670.....I have already ordered the beast,it should arrive in 48 hours. This is going to be my first Mac and I'm going crazy right now. I will post a thread so everybody knows. I hope that everything is going to be fine with the iMac.
Again thanks on all your posts, cheers:D:);)

i bought the new mbp 15" lower end. and i say dont buy it. the graphic card is not that good. i was playing wow on ultra, everything on multisampling 16X. and altough i had around 30 - 40 fps average running around in stormwind and orgr. i could tell the gpu had it rough getting everything on the screen. i went back to the apple store and got the 15" high end mbp. that on the other end runs wow as smooth as it gets. I havent played for that long. But i noticed i had a fps increase when i run it in windows 7 via bootcamp.
Now, i havent tried that with the lower end. but maybe that helps a little.

Did you run it in osx or only on windows 7? reason for asking is beacause im looking to get the 15" high end mbp.

i have wow on both.. i must admit though, wow runs way smoother on windows 7 it didn't get under 35 fps in stormwind or in Orgrimmar. everything on ultra. now on mac, i notice major fps decreases. when turning around real quick.
i would recommend get the new high end 15" model, bootcamp windows with around 150gb for windows. and run games on that.
i use my mac for video production, music production and writing. and when i want to play some games ill boot to windows 7 and i go pewpew..

I just purchased the high end 15" MBP Quadcore i7 (with 1 gig video ram), and I couldn't even come close to running Wow on ultra in OSX. I could run it on high, and get on average 40 fps. On Ultra, it was running 25 fps....and would dip into the teens at times.

It was actually quite a disappointment for me. :(

It is no surprise that it runs poorly on Ultra. You'd have to get a high-end desktop graphics card to be able to pull that off in OS X. Now if you run it in Windows, then you should be fine.

You really need to clarify that you saw those numbers in Windows. There's no way the 6750M can produce that much performance in OS X, let alone the 6490m.

Doesn't "I run it in windows 7 via bootcamp" mean that he runs it in windows 7 via bootcamp? I think it's pretty clear. ;)

No, all he said was that he gets better performance in Windows 7 via bootcamp. He clearly stated he ran it in both, but didn't specify which OS he described initially.

It seems even Hackint0sh thought he was speaking of Ultra in OS X.
