My experience with WunderRadio has been the complete opposite of this. I was in DC the last two days and spent a ton of time listening to Boston sports radio (WEEI) and talk (WTKK), without dropping the signal even once. Most of the time I was listening over wifi, but I had a couple of 30 minutes+ walks without any hanging or dropping.

I can stream very well over WIFI with almost no problems. It's when I'm on EDGE, I have the most problems. I know it seems pretty obvious, but I've looked at my signal strength on EDGE when these drops occur, and I mostly have full bars. I seem to also lose it a lot when switching from WIFI to EDGE.

Could someone tell me if these stations are available?

950 AM in Houston
94.5 FM in Houston
104.1 FM in New Orleans
870 AM or 105.3 FM in New Orleans

Thanks!

950 AM in Houston
94.5 FM in Houston
- nope, about 50 others stations listed WunderRadio app for Houston, but not those 2

104.1 FM in New Orleans - yes, works fine
870 AM - yes, works fine

105.3 FM in New Orleans
- don't see this one in the listing

p.s. I'm still looking to contact the developer of WunderRadio for my problem with 1 station (earlier post in this thread). tried PM'ing him in the other forum referenced above, but no luck.

anybody been able to contact the developer or otherwise find support?

Thanks! 870 and 105.3 are the same station, so it makes sense that only 870 would be listed.

Western Mass.
Pretty cool. I have had a seperate device to listen to local radio now I have it all on one. So far works well for me. The few stations I wanted are there and work very well (*so far ) over edge and WIFI. Only tried for a few songs so far but worth my $6. I wish we had more scanner freq in my area but that will never happen. I did notice that the stations are on a delay if you will. One by about a minute the other a few minutes.

I really wanted XM app but this will please me for awhile.

If you're dying for the two houston stations, they both work with ooTunes (all 4 actually work) but ooTunes isn't as easy (or cheap) as WunderRadio.

WunderRadio v1.2

v1.2 update has been released, FYI it fixes the problem I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Anyone experiencing problems since upgrading to 2.2?

When my screen is in lock mode (i.e. the top button has been pressed) it won't play. Once it has been unlocked it's fine. This pretty much renders it useless to me since I play the radio on the move where I lock the screen when it is in pocket.

Not a problem with the new firmware as far as I'm aware since Internet RadioBox continues to play when sleeping.

I upgraded to iPhone OS 2.2 and just noticed this too with WunderRadio v1.2

Looks like the developer knows this problem and will be fixed in v1.3 - it's mentioned in the notes if you click on the Help button.

Hadn't noticed that. Cheers.

Hopefully it should be fixed by the next build (submitted to iTunes on 21st Nov if anyone's interested).

streaming now works again when the screen locks under OS v2.2

That was quick. Hurrah for my second favourite app working again!

Edit: Second favourite third-party app I mean. Top five are all Apple's own :)

OK, I'll bite...

what's your favourite 3rd party app?

gotta say, WunderRadio is becoming one of my favourites too, especially when out of town.

Yeah, sorry for the cryptic post.

Third-party app used for most mins per day: WunderRadio; launched most often: NetNewsWire. I'll give NetNewsWire the nod. RSS is just great on a mobile device and NetNewsWire is the best implementation I've seen.

NNW is one of my favorites too, I use it every day, both on my Mac and iPhone.

BTW, does anyone know if you can manually add air traffic control streams to listen to in WunderRadio?

I notice under Scanners/RadioTime Scanners/Air there's only a few listed, for example DFW. it looks like the stream is coming from liveatc.net

but over at http://www.liveatc.net there are tons of ATC streams. just wondering if some of these can be added manually. or do we have to wait for WunderRadio to directly support them?

This is a great app.

It has all the stations I want in the Toronto, Canada, area, with one exception that doesn't work for some reason.

But this includes AM, FM, internet stations, a lot I didn't know about but the app optionally uses GPS and finds all the stations in a radius, as well as being able to search for any station anywhere.

Unlike FlyTunes which constantly crashes, or last.fm, with which I have some privacy issues, this is great.

A different thing, I also like Simplify to play my own songs remotely. Wunder is great for those time when you don't mind commercial radio...

Buffering issues but still happy with it

Nothing like shoveling snow and listening to stations back home like 93.5 KPOA in Lahaina, Maui. When it's 10 degrees below, I like hearing the weather report say it is 84 and surf is breaking 6 to 8 and glassy.

Oh well.

Only irritating thing is the dropouts once in awhile. Buffering issue. Even with the issue, I'm real happy with the app. Number of sations is awesome, and clarity is very good. Look forward to future improvements.

To the developer: I like to listen at bedtime and would appreciate a sleep feature to save battery life. Thank you for considering.

Great app, btw!
