I have been having the same problem. My phone gets warm, I charged it all night and it remained at 83%. I took it back to Apple and they gave me a new one and it did the same thing. I’m going to try to do the hard reset a couple of times to see if it works. Fingers crossed!

any update ???

did the problem resolve ????

Setting up the iPhone X and it's been plugged into a fast charger(apple MacBook plug) for about an hour and it hasn't gone past 80%. Anyone else experiencing this? Waiting for the backup to finish downloading all my apps before restarting to see if it'll solve the issue
[doublepost=1518263717][/doublepost]My iPhone X doing the same exact thing! It won’t charge past 80%! I powered it off and restarted it and now it says 83% but still won’t charge past 83%.

My iPhone X doing the same exact thing! It won’t charge past 80%! I powered it off and restarted it and now it says 83% but still won’t charge past 83%. So I took the USBC fast charger out and used the original charger cable with my iPad 12v block and it’s charging properly. It’s at 87% and counting.

I think that’s 80% is a safety thing to keep from overcharging the battery and therefore not a hazard for exploding and or catching fire

It’s charging to % now.

Use the fast charge up to 80% and then use original charger to achieve % charge.

It’s charging to 100% now.

Use the fast charge up to 80% and then use original charger to achieve 100% charge.

do a hard restart. If that doesn’t work run your iPhone all the way down to 0 until it shuts down and recharge it

Your iPhone might get slightly warmer while it charges. To extend the lifespan of your battery, if the battery gets too warm, software might limit charging above 80 percent. Your iPhone will charge again when the temperature drops. Try moving your iPhone and charger to a cooler location.
