I spoke to soon it just died today, won't do a thing had 60% battery too, light won't even come on when charging. Lucky i bought it locally. Took some great photos. Got the wifi sync going with my macbook and HTC one M8, very fast transfer. Got it to connect with NFC on my phone but couldn't get the remote camera to work, won't do anything.
Not sure if to swap it or get a refund.

The A6000 is a great camera, sounds like you got a dud. I'd give it another try.

The only concerns I have are.
1. it's mostly a plastic case, how well will it resist dings and scuffs.
2. Sony very rarely updates firmware.

I've had no problems with WiFi connecting to my iPad, iPhone 4 or MacBook.
The partial PDF manual is currently here. I've yet to find a finished version of the full 200 page manual.

Yeah thanks i had downloaded the manual and have spent hours playing around with it till it died, i got the wifi transfer to my macbook/ipad and with the play memories app on my HTC one M8 working. I could get the NFC to see my phone but won't do anything. Had to open a play memories account and enter the details on the camera which worked but still won't do anything, no transfer or camera control.
Its a public holiday here today so can't swap or refund till tomorrow:(

I was looking at a Canon D70 but they are bigger and $450 more and i thought the NFC would be good, wifi transfer is good enough which it has.

The Sony takes nice fast photos, for the size and money i don't think i will do any better. The micro usb charging is good too. I don't know.

ps The plastic on it actually looks and feels like metal and is solid, don't think it will ding too easily.
