This doesn't make sense. I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago, and my ship date is still Oct 11.

I even contacted Apple about this and here was there response:

Thank you for contacting Apple. We apologize for the confusion.

Please note that Apple fulfills orders in the order they were placed. Product availability can change rapidly, and it is possible that your order may ship sooner than we anticipate.

When your order ships, Apple will send a notification to xxxxxx@xxx.com

As a goodwill gesture, we have taken the shipping charge from your order.

We appreciate your business and apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused.

Sincerely,

Apple Store Customer Support

I am wondering if they are really processing the orders in which they were placed.

Doesn't appear that way.

Apple doesn't adjust ship dates down as far as I know.

Edit: Whee! I can no longer cancel my order! It is being shipped overnight. Oh, how I would love to play with it over the weekend. I am probably a little to excited right now.

Hmm

Does this mean mine is possibly shipping? I clicked the Cancel button on my order and this is what I got (the ship date says the same though [9/20 ship date]):

We're sorry, the items on your order can not be cancelled online. Click on "Why can't these items be cancelled?" to learn more. If you still have questions please visit Customer Service online or call 1-800-676-2775.

Spoke too soon, like everyone else, I just got the notification that it's being shipped today... I will have it tomorrow, too, with free shipping no less!

Many Shipping

Originally ordered the upgrade card August 23 with an estimated ship date of September 28. After the estimed ship dates dropped, ordered another September 9 with an estimated ship date of Septamber 20 - better than the first. Did not cancel the first one. Two days ago called Apple and was told the first order might go out Sept 15 at the earliest, the later order Sept 18. Was waiting to see which one really ships first - and got shipping notices for BOTH today, Sept 14, sent within two hours of each other. Was going to cancel one once the first shippped! Only needed one, so will have to send one back. They must be blowing them out fast at this point.:)

Yay! Just got an email that mine shipped. I'll have it tomorrow! :)

We wanted to let you know that your order has shipped. If you ordered multiple items, you may receive separate shipments with no additional shipping charges. An invoice for your shipped products will be emailed to you shortly. Visit Order Status to view your order details and track your shipment. If you'd like to request a return, print an invoice or view your account history, please log in to Your Account.

EDIT: Gah, how did you all get ree shipping? I still paid $16 for overnight.

Yeah I was reading in the World of Warcraft forums a post from a guy who has a 2.66 Mac Pro and the x1900 and he is getting crazy performance. Like 400fps (yes four hundred) in certain places, with a solid 110fps in IF. Look in the WoW Mac Support forums...
