64GB base storage was used to justify the $50 increase for iPhone 8 last year.

With iPad (2018), Apple had an opportunity to increase to 64GB, but they chose to stay with 32GB.

With this iPhone 7 SE, I'm not sure 64GB base would fit with the low-cost theme.
Who's to say it's labelled SE? I mean I just expect them to just replace the current 7 with 64GB models. They doubled the 6S like I mentioned.

I don't expect Apple to make a big fuss over it at least not at the key note, probably get an honourable mention when they show the current lineup to purchase

Doubling the storage wouldn't warrant a new codename. iPhone 7 was D10. This new device is T500.

It's clear some internal components have changed, whether it's an updated Intel modem or removing 3D Touch, we'll have to find out.

It'd be so lame! People would probably be better off getting cheaper second hand iPhone 7's

Im trying to be hopeful :D

Just remember this....

https://www.macrumors.com/2018/04/18/apple-registers-new-iphone-models-eurasia/

Which linked to this story...

https://www.macrumors.com/2018/01/26/iphone-se-2-said-to-launch-in-may-or-june/

Now the thing is, they registered a lot of new model names right before an event, and launched nothing at the event. And they have already registered names for next months event.
So don’t be surprised if we see next month new Apple Watch’s and iPad Pros and FOUR new iPhones including a new SE.
But we shall see...

Whats the point of releasing another 4,7 inch model if the other three rumored ones already incorporate that from a dimension pov?

Well, for one it would still be cheaper by several hundred dollars.than the other 3. But last I heard the other 3 being released in Sept are not 4.7 inch phones??

That's the mess with all those leaks. Most figures represent the screen size / ratio, but dont mention the actual size of the device. As far as Im concerned, the new rumored 5,8 inch(screen) model has the same size as the current iPhone 8, as home button vanishes and therefore the screen space is much bigger, with the device staying in the same physical dimension as before.

Just maybe the 4,7 inch version of a SE2 doesnt stand for the 4,7 inch as case diameter as well, and the get rid of the home button etc. which would increase the screen of the current iPhone se from 4 inch to 4,7 inch, without making the thing bigger. That would be my dream iphone

A "new" SE that's the size of an iPhone 7/8 is of absolutely zero interest to me (as a HUGE SE fan).

I'm in it for the small size above everything else.
If they release an SE2 that's iP7/8 size, in the US at least, I think it will absolutely flop on its face.

I know over a dozen people with an SE and all of them bought it for the size.

I would love to see a new SE with iPhone 7 internals.

So I could laugh at the buyers that waited 30 months (since 3/16) to buy a new phone that is 24 months (9/16) old.

Well when ya put it like that it’s downright hilarious

If it’s just an a10 drop in, not worth it imo

If it’s 2nd gen Touch ID BETTER screen and a10, then it might be :D

As much as everyone wants to see the SE re-introduced on a tech forum, I can understand why. But I still don’t see the SE hardly at all in public, and yes, I pay attention to those details. Point is, I just don’t think there is enough of a demographic that wants a 4 inch iPhone anymore, even though I do think they should be offered it to the consumer, it’s just a matter of Apple decides to revamp it or not.

It had the same camera and cpu as the 6S.
What did it have from the 6? Not the shell or LCD...

I think just Touch ID gen 1 and maybe the WiFi tech? But the second one if true wouldn’t matter to me my SE still pulls down my max internet speed 200mbps

It’s significantly more a 6s than anything else

If it is the size of an iPhone 5, but with an edge-to-egde screen, and have these specs, I'll be quite happy. Keeps the cost down. I just hope they bump the camera significantly.

It would likely sell like hot cakes, like the current SE does.

It could have a solid state Touch ID 2 as that costs Apple peanuts it’s been made for so long, and it will have a better camera maybe he same as the 7, Plus apparently the 7 processor. Then all it needs is 3D Touch 4.7” screen in a new design, maybe bezelless and make it water resistant, winner.
Chances are though it would be a modified iPhones me 7 case to look a bit different.

Meh who knows. All I know is I’d rather have Touch ID on the front and not the back.

Current iPhone SE has a 4 inch screen with dimension for the device being 123,8mm x 58,6mm. That reflects a diagonal of 136mm or 5,1inch.

Therefore it would be relatively easy for apple to increase the screen size up to 4,7 inch but keeping the same old small form factor that I just dont want to move away from.

But would that then mean FaceID in the top bezel that remains? I guess they could do it, however I believe the 4.7” screen would be a tad wider then the current SE.

I actually think we would of had more leaks if they were launching a new design SE, but one based on the iPhone 7 design wouldn’t gander as much attention so no leaks?

SE is all about the size, the shrinking of the phone-ego, yay.
In an opposite direction then what some guys fantasizes ;)

Obviously you don’t move in SE surroundings, so I don’t think you understand the need of it in people who likes the size. It is on its way. And all SE-people will :p

That will be a beautifully small phone. This makes me just :D

Great news for SE, big steps for a little phone and Apple. Sounds exactly as what we’ve heard for some time.

Obviously you’re being overly presumptuous, because I owned the iPhone SE when it first launched in March 2016, for future reference, you can ask versus assume, it makes more for a useful discussion. Oh, and the term ‘Need’ has no relevance to my post you quoted.

That said, I’m indicating that the SE is one of those phones that you really don’t generally see a lot in public compared to the larger smart phones because of how things have shifted with those who want the bigger battery and larger displays. I’m not saying there is not a demographic for the iPhone SE, but it certainly is not what it once was six years ago with the 5/5S. I Stand by what I said, I don’t think there is that much of a demand for 4 inch iPhone anymore like it used to be, because of where technology has moved with larger smart phones, and Apple placing more emphasis with including upgraded features into larger phones.

When there was no other phones then the 4" of course there was a higher demand on them
And then a lot of people wanted big phones, and yet the 4" stayed.
Now I'm even thinking that more people want a smaller phone again. That’s what I picked up.
Simply put, I think different, than you.
We’ll see soon how much 'think different' Apple still have :)
