I have the question too.

Anybody who has a XDR iPad Pro can take a live test, e.g. to play some 8bit-vs-10bit comparison sample video, or to visit online web app Screen Details, in order to tell if the screen supports 10-bit.

Has anyone been able to test this, to verify if the display is true 10 bit or if it is just somehow simulating it with FRC/temporal dithering?

I believe it is 10-bit (Google says so) and so do the iPad display specs. Can’t have full P3 and such bright and darkness without 10-bit.
Don't the other models like the Pro 11", Air, etc- claim all of this as well, but it is sort of faked with temporal dithering- fooling the eyes into thinking that there is a broader spectrum of colors, but doing so with a bit of shimmering/flickering that the eye can't really see? (and then causing eye strain for the minority of people who are sensitive to it)
...Or is this truly one advancement of the XDR display above and beyond all of the others?

It's 8-bit for sure.

Pro Display XDR clearly says 10-bit. iPad Pro doesn't. Apple didn't "forget" to list it. They list everything else under the sun: 10,000 LEDs, 2596 dimming zones, 1.8% reflectivity, etc.
