Actually i think it will ignore the second processor that has 2 cores and the second core on the other processor.

It would basically be stupid to get XP Home I think if it is actually that way. Unless you can find a way for Home to use all cores

Who the hell said that? EDIT: Just read on MS's website that Home supposedly doesn't support multiprocessors but Pro does MS says so anyways.. well dual core IS 100% supported in any version of Windows XP and thats for sure.

Its not like you'll lose any performance from not having the second processor anyway... but yeah you should try to get Pro.

I would, but I can get a full license of Home (not OEM) for $64. The price jump to Pro (even OEM) is pretty big. I basically just want to run games and a single dual core processor should be more than enough for that, I'd think.

Oh it definitely will, if its just games you are looking to run a single multicore processor should cut it, most games aren't even optimized for dual cores and a single 2.66/3.0 Xeon is a TOP of the line processor for gaming, just make sure you pair it with a nice videocard.

Cool. Thanks Chone. I feel comfortable buying that copy now.
