My launch day xs max is at the same 88% battery health. Seems about right.

Will be changing the battery when it goes below 85%

Just sold my wife's when she upgraded to her 12 Pro Max, it was bought new Nov 2019 and was @ 92%

Launch day XS Max at 89% (just dropped from 90% last month)

I replaced my launch day XS Max last fall at something in the mid to high 80s. I just do it every 2 years out of habit as I know I won't get 4 years out of 1 battery.
