iPhone XS Max here, just ordered a couple different brands...

iCarez 3D and Spigen. The iCarez should come in a couple days, the Spigen's supposed to come a few days after release (but think there's probably a chance this gets moved up). Interestingly Spigen has different (more premium) options on their own site vs Amazon.

iCarez: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GR5FJ6W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Spigen: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GX24RDC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As long at least one of them comes in by the 19th I'll be happy. I've had some glass protectors before come in the mail that wouldn't stick/seal so I like to have 2 to ensure the XS Max will be protected coming right out of the box :) I probably go thru 5 or 6 tempered glass protectors a year at this point lol, they do the job though.

I hate that I cant have a case and protector ready for when I get the phone friday. Im not sure its an apple embargo on selling third party accessories before launch or what but it's stupid.

It's not an Apple embargo. It's because Apple is so secretive and these third party accessories companies don't know the specifics of the new phones until Apple's key note press conference just like the rest of us. Until then they can only go by rumours which may or may not be true. So it only gives them a week to come up with products that are suitable and compatible. Inevitably most ship after the launch of the phones.

I've got this screen protector for now but I'm still looking for other options. I only use the full coverage glass screen protectors as the normal ones don't go all the way too the edge and you get lint and dust collecting on the edges. Most if not all of the ones mentioned in this thread are not full coverage and personally I would not buy them.

Thanks, I'm going to try the iCarez one. I think full coverage is worth the extra money.

i'm going with the belkin anti-glare on Apple's site. I'm careful enough with the phone i dont need a glass protector, i just hate the little hairline scratches from keys or any abrasive object. Add anti-glare and i think for me its the best option. If I was going no AC+, a glass screen protector is a must.
What's the reason behind people still buying Anti-Glare screens?

With screen resolutions getting better & producing beautiful results, I don't understand why you'd pay so much money for phone & then proceed to ruin its best feature with a blurry, Anti-Glare screen?

Belkin make decent crystal clear screens that stifle fingerprints very well. Phones also work much better in sunlight these days. Why not retain the screens beauty & grab one of those instead??

Looks like they don't one for the Max yet, but I have one of these: Case-friendly & it's a 2.5D that curves around the edges nicely.

http://www.belkin.com/au/p/P-F8W867/

I can't recommend it though - black edges slightly encroach along the sides. I'm fine with it, as it's so tiny, I don't miss any information, but it may bother others. Everything else with it is brilliant though. I have photos & full review in the iPhone X Screen Protector thread fyi.

The Icarez gets a few mentions here, so maybe try that first - cheaper & you get 2 of them in the pack + an alignment tray iirc.

Good luck.

I don't like glass screen protectors because i feel they crack really easily and also degrade quickly. I've actually never had an anti-glare screen protector, i'm just looking for the thin film type that will prevent against scratches. I have AC+ in case the front screen breaks. I wasn't aware that anti-glare screens were blurry, i will cancel my order with Apple and look for something else thanks

I've purchased ZAGG Invisible Shield for my phones ever since iPhone 4, I personally find them amazing. It is pricy at $35, 40...but it does have a warranty - if it does get damaged..cracked, Zagg will replace it. This happened with my 6+

I put the improved Zagg HD Glass + on my 8+ last year, VERY thick and durable - it's still on it. Clarity of the screen under it is perfect.

I've been looking online for the XS Max version, Best Buy - I hope they will have them by Friday. So far the site just says "Coming Soon" No stores anywhere near me that has them.

I just bought my first glass type last week & find it feels much smoother than the film type I'd been using for years.

Too early to say how durable it is, but together with a case with a front lip, I think it should be fine.

I wasn't aware that anti-glare screens were blurry,

Yeah I used them with my 3GS/5 (worked outside a lot back then & screens weren't as bright as now) & as soon as I changed to a crystal clear type, it was like I had a new phone - fonts & images popped from the screen as they should.

Thing about film is it's harder to find one that has curved edges, meaning you'll catch the sharp edge when swiping on the X/Max. There may be some out there. Good luck.

My Best Buy here has them in stock (Western IL) and I have one installed on my Xs Max. It seems really close to perfect - juuuust a smidge of screen protector extends over/around all of the edges of the screen. Seems about right for an "In Case" protector. I like Element cases and their case edges (really tight tolerances and smooth, tight edge that doesn't cut too far back over the phone face) which marries with the screen protector edge such that it just glides over that edge.

I've had Zagg glass on two prior phones and liked them a lot, and those two stayed on the phones, trouble free, for three years. So of course I have it for the 8+ and the Max.

Another company called Bodygardz makes very similar cut aluminum silicate glass protectors (Pure 2, but NOT the "pure 2 edge" that's the black border/to the edge product) to the Zagg Glass+ and I find them a pretty good option too. The Bodygardz are slightly more narrow so they dead nutz fit right over the edges of the screens all around, but they're pretty close in fit to the Zagg. Had one for 9 months on my 8+ and somehow managed to get some dirt/whatevah under an edge that spread a bit on the corner. But I was pretty happy with that, too until that issue developed. This might be another "test sample" of sorts to help you have an alternative depending on case etc.

The closer you get to the edge, however, the more the face of the phone slopes away. So on the Zagg, where it gives that oh, so slight overhang past the screen edge, it's that much closer to where the phone glass curves. This is particularly noticeable on the top of the screen - at the top of the "ears" surrounding the notch. If you look at the phone laying flat on a table and across the top edge you can see the phone glass curve away, ever so slightly, away from the screen protector above it at the edge. It's slight, but it makes me wonder how long term viable and hence how much fun it will be keeping a "case friendly" protector properly installed/adhered across that top edge. The curve doesn't seem problematic around the bottom/sides - the glass stays flat until the protector edge - but the top concerns me a bit. It's on there solid now, though.....

Hope this helps. I'm on the prowl to find the screen protector that marries to my likely Element case of the future - once the phone is out long enough for Element to produce all of the options. It's a slow motion puzzle piece, but I've begun to assemble it somewhat, knowing how that company tends to build the edges...it should be pretty smooth to the glass....or so I hope.

So I went to our Best Buy and they had the glass - labeled as "New 2018 6.5 iPhone" in a temporary sticker.

"WILL never preorder with a carrier again"

Don't know how that's going to work. I usually connect with ATT before Apple on preorder night.
[doublepost=1538701935][/doublepost]Hey, I like naked also, but the nicks and scratches reduce the price when I sell last years model.

Yeah, Best Buy FINALLY had them on Thursday, the day before release day. I goofed up and picked up the Glass+ ANTI GLARE. I had AntiGlare once on my iPhone 4 or 5 and it has a slight haze to it, it would diminish the quality of the OLED screen. Went back Friday and picked up the Glass+ (no anti glare). 2 weeks in, it works perfectly :)

Anybody got some links to good glass ones?

I usually buy on Amazon but don't see any good options. My 3 pack I got for my X for $7.99 has been awesome. Just want to be able to have one when I get my phone.

Thanks!

Sure, no problem. These are the ones I used! They're absolutely excellent. Bought them on launch day, has been on ever since, and still not a single scratch, without even being that careful.

Just installed the Bodyguardz Pure 2 Edge and it when on PERFECT like a dream. I've installed hundreds of protectors over the years and never had one install this smooth without not even the tiniest bubble. I know this protector is not cheap but I had a Bodyguardz save my iPhone X from a face down drop on a pile of rocks so I went with them again.

Anyone recommend a 2.5D with nice rounded/curved edges?
Don’t trust these 3D ones with black edges as those parts usually don’t have any adhesive.

I’m leaning towards a 2.5 with nice rounded edges so my fingers don’t get caught.
