Yahoo email account troubles!

is anybody else having trouble setting up their Yahoo email account on Iphone 3G? My Iphone imported the settings I set up on my Mac Mail before, it is working on my Mac but for some reason on Iphone I get the error incorrect password when trying to access my Yahoo email thru Iphone. I even tried deleting the Yahoo email settings I got from my Mac and created one thru Iphone using the Iphone preset Yahoo email setup but still getting the incorrect password error. :mad: Your thoughts?
 
I'm having the same problem- although sometimes the iPhone 3G does actually retrieve my Yahoo! email, most of the time, I get the same email password error!
 
I'm having the same exact problem. I heard you can set up an "other" acount instead of a yahoo acount and it will all work (besides push). But push is the feature I want! Does anybody know how to get the yahoo acount to work?
 
iPhone 3G newbie

...strange, i haven't had any problems on my end. i just went to 1)Settings, 2)Mail, Contacts, Calenders, 3)Add Account... 4)filled in the info, and presto!:D my email was under Accounts. From there, i have the option to turn Account off/on. If on, as soon as you go to the home screen and click on the bottom Mail icon, you're automatically connected to your inbox!!
Problem for me is i can't get my Hotmail account to register under 'Other'....guess i need to upgrade to a Gmail account :confused:
 
My Yahoo mail had been working fine from launch until today. Now I'm getting a password error even though I can access it just fine through the PC. I tried rebooting and re-entering the password but to no avail.

I'm still a fanboy but this phone is sketchy.
 
I am not able to retrieve Yahoo! Mail through its iPhone IMAP server either.
 
God the little things this phone does make it awesome. But when little issues like this pop up it is so frustrating. Yahoo email is down for me too. I get the "Cannot get mail. The connection to the server failed." message when i try.

I hope all these issues get fixed soon. It's starting to be a headache. I agree 100%. As a fanboy this phone is still sketchy. It is getting harder and harder to defend it when problems like this happen. The 3g reception is another ball of wax though.

Man I have had nothing but a headache with this dang phone. I can't get my yahoo to do anything and my G-mail is really slow.
I gotta be honest I'm a huge fan of Apple but this is getting a little old!
BTW yes this just started about an hour ago!
Should or can I delete the acount and start over?
 
I deleted my iPhone Yahoo account then turned off the phone. Then I changed my Yahoo password on a PC then I added my Yahoo account with new password.

Still get error... The username or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.

I found information that special characters in your password aren't handle very well and to remove them from your password but I'm not using any.

Incidentally my Gmail iPhone account is fine.

:mad: I wonder who's to blame because I have a finger I want to point at somebody
 
This has to be an apple issue

I am having the same problem, I have changed my password, turned my phone off then on, deleted the account and tried to add it again and will not work. Keep getting the same error messages. has anyone called apple? if not I will.

i agree!!!!

i'm also have a problem with my yahoo emails too.. and today i'm also have problems with aim.. it won't open...
 
This isn't fixed yet guys so be patient. I think the problem is deeper then just iPhone. I sent an email from my work mail to Yahoo 10 minutes ago and it still hasn't arrived on the web yahoo mail client or my iphone.

Plus, earlier, it was delivering messages sent 2 hours ago, so there was like a 2 hour delay on the web mail client.

Just reminds us all not to take email for granted. ;) And outages happen, so don't blame the iPhone, they happen with all mail providers and all phones, just look at those two major blackberry outages in the past year....
 
I haven't received an email alert in almost 24 hours, but have had 30 plus messages...

I have both hotmail (through izymail via fetch) and Yahoo via push and neither work, i can't ever retrieve messages manually....

Yahoo hansn't been very consistent with the push since i signed up after i got the iphone 3g, i don't know if this is a Yahoo problem, Iphone mail app problem, or what....but it sucks.....
 
It finally took my password too but it just sits there "connecting". This is a brand new email account so it's not like there are emails to download.
 
Maybe it's an AT&T conspiracy so that we'll actually be forced to pick up the phone and talk to a real live person for a change. ;)
 
Can't get it either

The only way I can get my Yahoo email to push through my 3G Iphone is to reset my Iphone by shutting it completely down. When I turn it back on, and click on my inbox, it downloads the email with no problem. I'm just really tired of having to turn the Iphone off and on to retrieve my email. GRRR! :mad:
