i'm having trouble too

i only recently got my iPhone and Yahoo was working flawlessly for several days and then yesterday it just quit on me and only showed messages from two weeks ago and prior. i contacted yahoo who gave me the standard "delete the account, reset the phone, change password, add account back to phone" to no avail.

now all is says for me when i set up the account is "load more mail"

this is really roundabout but this is what i'm doing now: having my gmail account fetch my yahoo mail and have it forward via a filter to a newly created yahoo account that for whatever reason is pushing just fine. so now i get my mail basically whenever gmail fetches it. it's not quite push but it works. the reason i don't just forward my yahoo mail directly to the new, working yahoo account is that mail plus only lets you forward *or* have POP access and i use POP to download the mail to my outlook on my home computer.

i really hope they sort this out. it's a bit annoying.

Mine began working this morning but it was only after I cleared Safari history, cookies and cache.

Settings> Safari> Clear History
Settings> Safari> Clear Cookies
Settings> Safari> Clear Cache

still nothing

My 10 year old Yahoo Mail Plus account will not work.

My 2 day old new free account works great.

On the bright side my work Exchange mail works perfectly. I just wish I could sync tasks.

I'm really hoping Yahoo sorts this out.

Same problem for me. password error through imap access. The weird thing is ... when I set up a pop3 access to my Yahoo Mail Plus account, the Yahoo mail server excepts the password.
Wrote an email to Yahoo Mobile about this. Should have an answer by tomorrow.

Yahoo Mobile

I've gone back and forth w/ them for the last few days and they say the issue was elevated and the engineers made some changes to the back-end of my account - at least that's what they tell me.

I told them I still have the problem and they say they'll send it to the engineers again. If it's a larger scale problem I'm not sure what tweaking my individual account will do but at least the dialog (and trouble ticket) w/ them is still open.

Yahoo support response

Here is the response I got from them, hopefully this helps some people, some of these suggestions look like the pre-canned support response, but others look like they might actually help.

understand that you are having problems with the push mail feature of
iPhone with your Yahoo! Mail. I am sorry to hear that you are having
this kind of issue. I'll be glad to assist you with your concern.

I have taken some steps which should resolve the issue you are
encountering. Please do the following steps to apply the changes I have
made with your account on to your Apple iPhone:

- Delete the Yahoo! ID on currently on your iPhone

- Turn off your iPhone

- Log into your PC and change your password. Many errors care caused by
the way the iPhone encrypts some characters. Please ensure your new
password has no special characters (any character which is not a letter
or a number, such as @ or *). This will reset our registration systems
and ensure that Apple treats your ID as a new connection.

- Turn your iPhone back on

- Set up your Yahoo! Account on your iPhone using the "Yahoo!" option.
Please make sure that you enter your new password when setting up the
account.

- Make sure that your iPhone is not set to Manual Push. To verify this
please take the following steps:

- Open Settings - Select Mail - Select Auto Check - Ensure it is not
set to "manual"

This should trigger a re-sync between your Apple Device and our systems.

If you find that you're encountering issues with registering your
account, or your iPhone is unable to retrieve email just let me know.

In order to assist I'll need the following information:

- The exact error message you're receiving on your iPhone when you
attempt to access your mail.

- What firmware/security update are you currently using on your iPhone?
(Choose General > About to get information about iPhone and select
Software version)

- Do you currently have a contract with AT&T, or are you a AT&T Go!
Phone user, or are you on another network?

- If you are on another network, who is your carrier or are you using
the iPhone strictly via Wi-Fi.

- Is your iPhone currently hacked to use non-Apple products or
software, or work on a network other than AT&T?

- What firmware version is running on your iPhone?

Once we have this information, we will be happy to assist you again.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Mobile Tech Support.

Regards,

with apple pulling the push notification with the next update, is this the same push that we're looking for with yahoo mail? Does this mean that it will be down (not working AT ALL, let alone once in a while)?
